Queen Amaya is mostly lined (sleeves are not) and more hand stitching to close these seams. My blister is returning yay! She's about 90% done with 13 days remaining until submission due date. It's too hot outside to work on the mirror prop.

Ever have so much scrap you don't know what to do with it? This is all 6mm scrap pieces from the workshops over the years. I'm taking a lot and using it as filler on the mirror prop for King Magnifico. I'm cutting the larger pieces down to about an inch wide by 3 to 4 inches long. The box on the bottom right corner is the newly cut pieces from larger scraps. They'll become stacked stone looking pieces on the front and sides of the prop.

Hours upon hours upon hours of hand sewing were spent last night on steam. Much fun was had, blisters ensued. Beads for Queen Amaya's bodice were obtained from and will be added to the collar today! Magnifico's cape was spot cleaned from the wild paint flying fiasco. Who knew isopropyl alcohol could remove dried acrylic paint so well!

Despite painting for nearly 7 hours yesterday I still didn't manage to get even a single task on my list done for Queen ...

Despite painting for nearly 7 hours yesterday I still didn't manage to get even a single task on my list done for Queen Amaya. The Speedball fabric paint takes much longer to dry than acrylic+fabric medium does, at least 30 minutes between coats of paint. There's still the bottom border to add, lilac colored triangles that go over that border, green dots at the top of the green teardrop, pyramid spikes above the gold teardrops, and breaking to do..... 31 days to get this done! It feels weird to potentially not have con crunch.

I know it's been a long time since I've posted, been busy with running the booth and repair station for Denver fan expo last weekend...... BUT I finally got back into it and the hubby got right down to painting the diamond border and panels for the door prop. I worked on beading the embroidery. Lots and lots of tiny little beads..... I also designed some new embroidery pieces on magnifico's cape (the small stars on the sides are net new, doesn't exist on any pattern sites to my knowledge). All this painting and he's still not even close to his final form.

It's stinky in the basement, and relatively cool outside (compared to the past few days) so I'm working on the mirror and door prop for King Magnifico and Queen Amaya! Wood look is made from XPS foam.

Working on magnifico again..... Even though I've told myself Amaya needs to be worked on too. And today instead of working on Amaya, David and I are working on the mirror prop.
Anywho, here is the work on magnifico I've done this week. I embroidered the mantle overlay, painted the triangle border and bedazzled it, and I finished drafting the second draft of Amaya's mock up. This one is way better and even though the base pattern didn't have sleeves I successfully added them. I'm really happy I had a backup sloper to use instead. Has to scale it up a size at the waist because I made the sloper 7 years ago when I weighed 30lbs less.

King magnifico is getting closer to being completed! The fit is great and now i have marks for the belt size. The cape...

King magnifico is getting closer to being completed! The fit is great and now i have marks for the belt size. The cape pleats came out a little wonky, but they're going to be covered by an embroidered mantle so I'm not super worried about it. The over coat just needs it's brown bottom trim and then that whole piece is done. I wish I was this close to being done with Amaya too.....
