The Casselberry Arts Center is proud to announce the opening of Unreality of the Present, a new group exhibition curated by Teddy Duncan Jr., on view from December 12, 2025 through March 27, 2026. The opening reception will be held on Friday, December 12 from 6–9 PM.
Drawing its conceptual framework from contemporary critic Dean Kissick’s writing on the “unreality” of our cultural moment, Unreality of the Present brings together four artists—Motherseth, Zayd Latib, Adam Lavigne, and Sara Akbari—whose work embraces ambiguity, intuition, and the mysterious. Rather than presenting art as an instrument for messaging or political clarity, the exhibition celebrates work that resists definition and refuses to collapse into a singular narrative.

Horse Feathers are bringing their signature indie folk sound to the Casselberry Arts Center — Thursday, November 13 from 6–9 PM
Doors at 6PM
Music at 7PM

The Casselberry Arts Center is proud to welcome Horse Feathers, the acclaimed Portland-based indie folk band fronted by singer-songwriter Justin Ringle, for a special live performance on Thursday, November 13, from 6-9PM.

Formed in 2004, Horse Feathers has earned widespread recognition for their beautifully orchestrated folk sound, blending poetic lyricism with lush acoustic arrangements. Led by Ringle’s evocative vocals and introspective songwriting, the band has developed a devoted following across the U.S. and beyond.

Emerging from Portland’s vibrant music scene, Horse Feathers began as Ringle’s solo project before evolving into a collaborative effort with multi-instrumentalist Peter Broderick. Their debut album, Words Are Dead (2006), introduced a delicate chamber-folk style influenced by artists like Bruce Springsteen and composer Max Richter. Subsequent albums — including House With No Home, Thistled Spring, and So It Is With Us — have continued to showcase the band’s evolving sound, marked by graceful string arrangements, heartfelt melodies, and emotional depth.

Audiences at the Casselberry Arts Center can expect an intimate and moving evening of music that highlights the band’s distinctive blend of folk, Americana, and contemporary indie influences.

Experience Contemporary (Myth and Storytelling) is a group exhibition of paintings, sculptures, and printed materials, featuring four contemporary Florida artists, curated by Justin Luper. The exhibit will open on Saturday, August 30 at 6PM and will remain on view through November 21.
Casselberry Arts Center is proud to present some of Florida’s most exciting artists in this year’s iteration of Experience Contemporary (Myth and Storytelling). The exhibition explores our mind’s unique need to tell stories and create meaning. Visible in the artwork of Boy Kong, Libbi Ponce, Tom Rosenow, and Emily Martinez are elements of storytelling and myth. The use of archetypal themes, symbols, historical references, and even the direct artistic process can be seen as referencing the ways in which we deliver our stories. The interaction of these different artworks generates unexpected connections and information gaps that provoke our natural urge to tell stories and extract meaning.
Myth making and storytelling are the tools used to interpret our world, build culture, and connect with others. The symbols and characters found in stories and myths have profound impacts on our collective and individual psyche, our belief systems, our practices, and our every day lives. This collection of work contains new characters, objects, narratives, and symbols that come directly from each artist’s personal experiences and interests. Although the work may come from personal places, the beauty of myth and storytelling comes from its ability to connect people across cultures and throughout time with its use of archetypal elements that convey universal themes.
