Planning, revisions, grocery lists, prep lists, labels, organization.

The cooking is only one part of the process.

One of the biggest differences in how we work is that we don't start with a preset menu.

Every group is different.

Some want family style.
Some want lighter lunches and large dinners.
Others have allergies, restrictions or picky eaters.
Some want to experience different cuisines.

We build menus around the people we're cooking for!

That's what customized chef service looks like.

Tell Me You're a Chef Without Telling Me You're a Chef

We spend our days thinking about food, talking about food, cooking food, and serving food.

Somehow this doesn't always translate into remembering to actually eat.

We have mostly just shown the final meals, so we're showing some behind the scenes of how we get to those finished plates.

What you don't see is everything that happens before we ever turn on a stove or even prep any ingredients.

Where we Start:
Reviewing client notes.
Creating menus.
Making revisions.
Creating shopping lists.
Shopping.
Organizing ingredients.
Making prep and ingredient lists.
Writing labels.
Mapping out each cooking day.

A lot of our work as personal chefs happens before any cooking begins.

All this planning is what allows meals to feel customized, consistent, and seamless for the families we serve.

This is what a real weekly planning flow looks like behind the scenes.

What part of the process surprised you the most?

05/28/2026

A look into some of the experiences we create for our clients as Orlando personal chefs.

Whether it's weekly services, to private dining, vacation support, special events, and retreats, a lot of what we do is built around creating customized food experiences that fit each client and household individually.

No two clients are exactly the same, which means no two menus or experiences are either.

05/26/2026

The invisible work before a client even books.

A lot goes on before cooking does.

Before ingredients are purchased.
Before prep begins.
Before an event is booked.

The process starts with an inquiry or phone call where we:

•Learn preferences, restrictions, and what is actually wanted.
•Do any research needed before menu planning.
•Create and send over sample menus.
•Get feedback and finalize details.

Whether it's a brunch, private dining experience, vacation services, or weekly personal chef services, a huge part happens behind the scenes.

Every client, household, and event is different, which means every experience needs to be built differently too.

Dinner usually isn’t hard because of the cooking.

It's everything that comes before and after...

the planning,
the shopping,
the clean up,
the decisions,
The constant mental load of figuring it all out every single day.

You aren’t struggling with cooking skills.

You’re exhausted from carrying the entire process.

This is what personal chef services actually help with.

Less stress.
Less last minute takeout.
More evenings that already feel handled.

05/22/2026

What it looks like to be a personal chef and parent:

Coffee getting reheated 3 times.
Endless papers of prep lists, menus and content ideas.
Packing ingredients for weekly clients and events.
Last minute grocery runs.
Scheduling around kid drop offs and pickups.
Balancing allergies, preferences, schedules and real life.
Late night planning after kids are asleep.

A lot of what you see from personal chefs are the fancy meals, the events, aesthetic behind the scenes clips, but honestly most days look more like organized chaos (especially with working it around our kids). It's endless behind the scenes planning to make it look like it's effortless.

While the meals definitely matter, so does everything else. Because without all the planning nothing would come together so seamlessly.

While being a chef means we have all the systems in place, we got life handed to us (literally) after becoming parents.

For real we honestly felt like we stole a baby for a bit even though he obviously grew inside me for almost 10 months.

All of our systems went out the door after our first and we have honestly struggled getting back on a consistent track since. Now with 4 kiddos we are in an ever-changing flow of life, so just like that our systems have had to constantly grow with us.

with all of that said here is a bit of what we have learned:

"Perfect" meal plans don't work for real life: they assume you have all the time and no interruptions.
Simpler meals are the most sustainable: like super simple- protein, starch, vegetables and repeat. (Chef Tip: That's also a really simple way to make a composed dish)
Flexibility matters more than perfection because just like our schedules change, so does everything else.
Every meal is important but it in no way needs to be fancy.
Having support changes everything because food does affect how a home feels.

In the end real meals are more important than perfect meals. Share this with someone else that need to read this today.

You don't need a more complicated meal plan.

You need meals to fit more realistically in your actual life.

This may look like:
Keeping meals simpler on your busy weeks,
making a larger meal to have more leftovers,
having a backup option ready (we always have this on hand),
or planning meals around schedules instead of expectations.

As chefs, one of the biggest things we have learned is that the best meal systems are usually the ones that feel sustainable, not the ones that look the most impressive.

Because when meals feel manageable, everything else feels a bit easier too.

It's having meals planned around your actual schedule.

It's support around likes and dislikes.

It's help navigating allergies and restrictions.

It's opening the fridge and knowing food is already handled.

It's reducing the mental load around mealtime.

It's making food feel more manageable.

It's about supporting where our clients need it.

05/19/2026

As chefs, we've spent years helping people around food.

But as parents, we've experienced how crazy meals can start to feel in the middle of real life.

Busy schedules
Activities
Mental Exhaustion
Ever changing preferences
Trying to get everyone fed consistently while also juggling everything else going on.

Most days we are still trying to figure it out in our own house. (Spoiler: even we feel like we need a personal chef😅)

That's a huge part of why we care so much about making meals feel easier for you.

Not perfect
Not fancy all the time
Realistic, supportive meals that work for you and your family.

Because you don't need more pressure around meals. You need more support.

Feeding families consistently isn't just meals.

It's remembering that one family member can't have onions.
It's knowing that Mondays are super busy, so dinner needs to be hot and ready.
It's remembering how to work around recipes for a gluten allergy.
It's cooking even though you are tired.
It's forgetting to plan meals and having to scramble all week.

That's why meals can start to feel overwhelming so quickly.

Feeding people consistently takes a lot more thought, planning, and mental energy than many realize — especially when you juggle everything else with it.

Support around meals can change so much for a family. If you need that support, we're here for you.

05/18/2026

A lot of people assume personal chef services are mostly about luxury or special occasions,

BUT...

for many of the families and groups we work with, what we're really helping with is making food feel more manageable.

It could be...

a retreat with multiple allergies
a family that has kids in sports
a group that has picky eaters and restrictions
or a large group that does not have the band width or time to cook for the size.

Fancy meals have a time and place, most of the time it's just regular meals that people really need.

One of the biggest differences between chefs and most home kitchens is that chefs are constantly thinking about systems, not just recipes.

How to simplify decisions.
How to make prep and cook time more efficient.
How to make sure meals flow better for real life.

All the invisible prep makes all the difference.

Most people think dinner stress comes from the cooking.

After years of working with families, we’ve found that for many people it starts long before dinner comes up — with the constant decisions, planning, scheduling, and mental load surrounding meals long before anyone starts cooking.

As chefs, a huge part of what we actually help solve is reducing the stress and overwhelm around food.

This week on the blog, we’re breaking down why dinner can feel so overwhelming and the invisible systems chefs naturally use to make meals feel more manageable in real life.

Many families don't struggle with cooking itself; they struggle with the constant mental load surrounding meals.

05/13/2026

🍴The food is only part of the system.

Before your event starts, chefs are already thinking about preferences, timing, shopping, overlap, dietary needs, kitchen flow, variety, quality, and reducing the stress the week (sometimes more) ahead.

🔥That invisible work is what helps meals feel easier.

05/12/2026

🍴Many of our clients don't actually hate cooking.

They hate the constant decisions. What most didn't realize was that after a day full of decisions whether in business or family life, the last thing they wanted to think about is 'what's for dinner'.

The added mental load was exhausting before the cooking even started.

🔥That's one of the biggest things chefs actually help solve.

05/05/2026

🍴For this family, lunch and dinner used to look like:

ordering last minute
figuring it out after a long day
and hoping something sounded good

Now?

The meals are planned.
The fridge is stocked.
Dinner is already handled.

No scrambling.
No daily decisions.
No defaulting to takeout.

Just real food, ready when they need it.

For a lot of busy families, that shift doesn’t just change dinner —
it changes the entire rhythm of the week.

🔥If you’re feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or relying on takeout more than you’d like…

this might be your sign to do something different.

Comment CALM and we’ll show you how chef-prepared meals can work in your home.

Dinner gets a lot easier when you start with a simple system.

As busy parents of 4 we are always looking for the simplest methods to keep our weeks flowing smoothly. As chefs we know how to strategize meals with just a few steps.

🍴The 3 steps we always use every week without fail:

1. Check what you already have in the fridge, pantry and freezer.
2. Plan meals your family actually enjoys.
3. Prep a few things ahead whether its meals or just ingredient prep.

🔥So now the question becomes: Why NOT simplify your dinners with a 3-step system? This is your sign - take action! All you need to do is follow us for more simple chef strategies.

🍽️What you see is a calm dinner on the table.

What you don’t see is everything that happens before that moment.

The prep lists.
The grocery shopping and sorting.
The chopping and organizing.
The labeling and storing.
The cooking and plating.
And the cleanup that keeps the kitchen running smoothly.

These behind-the-scenes systems are what make the evening feel effortless for the people at the table.

It’s not just cooking — it’s planning, preparation, and making sure everything flows the way it should.

🔥Are you ready for your next event?

04/28/2026

🍴One of the quickest ways to fall off of cooking your meals at home is to have entirely too much structure and rigidity in your meal plan.

While your meals do need structure, they also need to be achievable for the average person and family. On a daily you have so many decisions to make, we help "what's for dinner" fall off of that list.

🔥On a range from too many meals planned out to complicated recipes where do you fall into meal planning slumps?

04/25/2026

A very important question for the coffee drinkers.

Are you a one cup and done person…

or does the coffee keep going all day long?

Around here, coffee is usually the start of the day… and sometimes the middle of it too.

No judgment — we’re just curious.

How many cups are you having today? ☕
