In 1960, tragedy struck our family, forcing the farm to be sold at auction the following year. The new owners kept it operating as a dairy farm, hiring a local family to move on-site and manage the daily operations.

That family made the farm their home for 55 years until retiring and moving from the farm in 2016. That same year, I was blessed with the opportunity to buy back the buildings and a small piece of our original farmland. I named it The Front Porch Promise Farm and my husband and I built a venue where the original 1800s barn once stood. We built it as a gathering place for the Cassadaga Valley and community at large.

Today, our community gathers in this space alongside the family who called it home for over half a century. We will honor the memory of their oldest son, who poured his heart, time and hard work into the farm for so many of those years.

As I watched his daughter set up a memorial table of photographs this morning, I was reminded that the most precious legacy we leave behind is memories—ordinary, everyday moments that become healing medicine for hurting hearts in our time of loss.

My prayer today is that as family and friends say goodbye to a man they deeply loved and respected, their hearts will be filled with comfort, treasured memories, and gratitude for a life truly well lived—a life devoted to hard work, caring for others, and providing for those around him in the way only a dedicated farmer can.

The picture of tractors is brought to you by local residents who drove them to the FPPF and put them on display in honor of the man who was known by all as a man who could fix anything—-especially tractors.

Rest in peace dear friend. You will be missed but not forgotten.

It was an absolute dream-of-the-heart-come-true afternoon!

There is something truly special about a relaxed Sunday, half-day celebration at the Front Porch Promise Farm. For small wedding receptions, it allows everyone to focus on what truly matters without the unnecessary financial strain and exhausting preparations that can sometimes come with a larger event.

The freedom to focus on celebrating a beautiful love story, enjoying delicious food, family and friends, plenty of laughter, and making memories together is truly priceless.

Yesterday, we were treated to an amazing first attempt at making a wedding cake by the mother of the groom—and it was nothing short of a blue-ribbon-worthy work of art! But that wasn’t all. There was an abundance of delicious food, featuring the perfect combination of homemade family side dishes and catered entrees.

Adding to the afternoon was a slideshow celebrating the couple’s wedding ceremony just a few weeks ago at Banff National Park, surrounded by the breathtaking Rocky Mountain wilderness of Alberta, Canada. And at the client’s request, we even taught their guests a few simple line dances, bringing plenty of laughter and fun to the dance floor fun.

The afternoon was the perfect combination of intimate, warm, welcoming, and joyful.

Hosting celebrations where people feel completely at home is such a joy, and that feeling was evident in every little detail at Front Porch Promise Farm.

Here’s to many more unforgettable celebrations on the farm—and to a lifetime of love and happiness for this precious couple! 💕🥂

The Front Porch Promise Farm was honored to host a very special birthday celebration for a special member of our community! ❤️

The evening was filled with laughter, sweet conversations, delicious food, and unforgettable music from a nationally recognized, Grammy-nominated bluegrass band straight out of Tennessee—an accomplished group whose honors include International Bluegrass Music Association awards and Dove Award nominations. 🎻🎶

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to share the blessing of this beautiful farm and to help create such a meaningful and memorable milestone.

The wedding at Front Porch Promise Farm yesterday lacked nothing— it had everything and then some! ❤️

From the beautiful violinist and cellist, stunning floral arrangements, and exquisite table settings to the live bluegrass band and lighted tambourines for the dancers, every detail was thoughtfully designed to make this celebration unforgettable.

And what a beautiful couple! The bride, groom, and their family and friends created an atmosphere filled with love, laughter, and joy.

The charcuterie table was truly a work of art, and the meal by Dinosaur Bar-B-Que was absolutely outstanding!

Robin, owner of Because of Love Wedding Planning Services, worked diligently alongside the bride to bring every little detail to life. It was a beautiful reminder that when dreams of the heart are thoughtfully planned and lovingly executed, they can become cherished memories for a lifetime.

Some celebrations are truly once-in-a-lifetime events—worthy of extra planning, preparation, and a whole lot of heart.

Yesterday was one such celebration at Front Porch Promise Farm!

The Cassadaga Valley Class of 1976 gathered to celebrate their once-in-a-lifetime milestone—their 50th class reunion—and oh, what a night it was!

From delicious food and homemade desserts to dancing, door prizes galore, PowerPoint presentations, and catering and bar service by South Dayton Hotel, the evening was filled with everything that makes a reunion special.

There was laughter, hugs, cheers, memories, and excitement—all wrapped up together into one incredible evening.

Serving our clients and helping bring their visions to reality is such a privilege and what an honor it was to host the Cassadaga Valley Class of 1976 for such a memorable milestone!

Here’s to 50 years of memories, friendships, and stories—and to making even more memories together!

The Front Porch Promise Farm was blessed to welcome the Cassadaga Valley High School Class of 1974 for their annual class reunion yesterday.

The graduates spent the afternoon laughing, sharing a meal, playing games, and catching up with one another. It was a joy to watch.

As I observed them celebrating, it occurred to me that in 1974 they were 18-year-olds with their whole lives ahead of them. Fifty-two years later, they are still 18 years old at heart—still enjoying each other's company, still embracing life with youthful enthusiasm, and still making memories together.

It was a beautiful reminder that while the years may change us, they don't have to diminish our joy.

If they could leave us with one piece of wisdom, I imagine it would be this:

"Celebrate life while you can. It is a gift."

It was a beautiful wedding and celebration for a beautiful couple at the Front Porch Promise Farm yesterday.

Not a detail was missed by the families who showered the couple with their love. It was a beautiful thing to watch as they all worked together, creating memories for a lifetime.

We can’t say for sure, but we think the “corn ears” in the fields were blessed to listen to the laughter and joy that filled the day! ❤️🌽👂
