Please give me grace. That’s what I’m having to ask this season. Today marks 6 weeks since I had a full hysterectomy and bulkamid procedure. I’ve been “back” to work since 3.5 weeks post op but, do not let that fool you. My body is still struggling to keep up, I’m having to take this season in strides and moving a little slower and trying to build my stamina back up. So, please show me grace. Please understand. Because I promise I want nothing more than to be back at 100%.

I am frequently asked by friends and family, “What are some of your favorite plants to use in your container designs?” I am more than happy to share, as they are not a closely guarded secret. When I say this winter was long, I mean it! I’m now 4 weeks post op and feeling the best I’ve felt in over 15 years! Today I kicked off my 2025 season, no better way than to start off strong with some sweet little cottage container designs! Feels so good to be back doing what I love.💕

Hello, community! My name is Kaleena, and I am a native of Macon County. I’m excited to introduce myself to you all. As a single mother of three, with two of my children having special needs, I have developed a deep appreciation for adaptability and resilience.

I have 20 years of experience as a horticulturist and designer, having worked with reputable landscape companies in the Highlands/Cashiers Plateau and Atlanta areas. This year marks an important milestone for me, as it is my fifth year as a business owner.

In addition to my professional work, I am passionate about advocating for special education and representing school-age students and their families. As I approach a new decade in my life, I have made the conscious decision to rebalance my priorities, focusing on being more present for my children and their activities. To support this, I have adapted my services to offer a more remote and virtual experience, utilizing 3D landscape, garden, and container designs. I also continue to provide installation services for containers and smaller landscape and garden projects.

To My Valued Followers and Clients:
As I conclude another business season, I would like to share my vision for Kaleena Keener Designs in 2025. While I strive to maintain a clear distinction between my professional and personal life, I believe in the importance of transparency. For those unfamiliar with my situation, I am a single mother of three, two of whom have special needs. My eldest child requires significant care as she is autistic and nonverbal, which has presented challenges in balancing the demands of my business with the needs of my children.
Beginning in January, I will focus exclusively on select specialized services, including seasonal containers, landscape design, and collaborations with fellow contractors and business owners. I will no longer offer installation or maintenance services. This decision has not come easily, but it is essential for achieving a better work-life balance for my family and me. It will also allow me to pursue other avenues that I feel called to explore.
In recent months, I have become a Special Education Advocate and a Registered Behavior Technician. I am deeply passionate about supporting other parents of special needs children and assisting those children themselves. I envision a future where I can blend my love for gardening and flowers with services tailored for special needs individuals. I pray that God will illuminate a path for this endeavor.
In the meantime, I am offering my 2D/3D landscape designs for $200 this holiday season. These comprehensive designs will include a complimentary plant list. While I will not be personally installing these designs, I can provide you with a list of reputable professionals and businesses who can assist with the installation.
