TUESDAY'S TIPS: Guest Etiquette
Part 3- The Big Event
1. Never sit in the front row. Even if it's a casual gathering, this space should be reserved for the guest(s) of honor, family, and the host.
2. Silence your phone. Nothing ruins the mood more than a cell phone going off during an event. Should you forget and your phone goes off, immediately turn off your device and turn your attention back to the event.
3. Save the conversations. If you are at a wedding or other event that has a program, save the side conversations for another time. Not only is it rude to those who should have all the attention but it is also distracting to the other guests who are trying to hear.
4. Put on a happy face. You may have had a horrible week at work, the kids were uncooperative, or you don't like the food that is being served. Your host invited YOU be present at this special occasion so show up physically and mentally. Would you want to see someone sulking on your special day?
Let's face it, guests are unpredictable and our thoughts can be consumed with all that can go wrong. At YOU-niquely Yours, our event hosts and coordinators will work to see that your guests know your expectations and do our best to keep distractions to a minimum.
