I often wonder what the children I photograph think when I ask them to stand in the most peculiar places for a photo. Like, what is going through this little one's head when I ask her to stand actually inside this tree with crazy light. Options would be:
"Good thing I've been photographed by this insane person since I was three or otherwise I'd be like heck naw." (Truth this family is one of my favs of all time!)
"You're blinding me you nutso. I know I look all serious and pensive but really my eyes just hurt."
"I TOTALLY see your vision you are a master of light and photography I bow down to your creative genius."

I fully support putting on all of your sparkles for your Lake Tahoe family session and give all the hugs so you can impale yourself and your family with your scratchy sequins. Then again I just support wearing all of your sparkles in general. One of my biggest flexes is that right after everything shut down for COVID, I bought out I think all of Anthropologie's sequined items. I'm now the proud owner of a sparkly piece in every category of clothing. Comes in handy!

It's that time of year where I only have a couple new sessions to post so I find myself going back a year or two or three or ten thinking "WHY THE HELL DIDN'T I POST THIS SESSION/WEDDING ALREADY I AM NUTS PLEASE KICK ME?!?!?!" TBH that sentence should probably just end with a question mark but I wanted the exclamation point for exclamation's sake.

Anyhoo, Allie and Chris are good friends that honored me by hiring me for my very first SF City Hall wedding. And holy moly what a wedding it was! They ended their morning wedding with a fabulous lunch at the Golden Gate Park Boathouse with their closest family and friends. They even managed to feed me cake that I absolutely loved, color me shocked!

Guys ngl I'm a little sad that I only got in ONE SESSION with all the snow, but it's ok because Victoria and Patrick are just lovely and drove all the way around the lake for me. Bless their hearts but like in an actual sincere way not the passive aggressive way. Also are literally all my captions lately about the weather in some way? I'm sorry. Once a wannabe weather girl always a wannabe weather girl.

Lastly, fun story. When we showed up to Skylandia for the engagement session, there was a group of local folks with their kids sledding and hanging out. They heard Victoria and Patrick were from Tennessee and were doing an engagement session then generously offered a shot of their bourbon! Always an adventure I tell ya.

I guess it's just summer now so I might as well start posting warm, splashing in Lake Tahoe pics for all of you. This fabulous Lake Tahoe family session was at Zephyr Cove, one of my favorite locations for family photos! Maybe our lack of snow this year will actually allow us to walk out to the rock island again this summer. Gotta look on the bright side y'all.
