Carmichael Recreation and Park District is a dependent special district of the County of Sacramento, 15 miles northeast of the state capitol in the beautiful central valley of California. Established in 1945, the District is chartered by the County of Sacramento to manage park land and provide recreation opportunities to Carmichael and Sacramento County residents.

🚧 Jan Park Construction Update 🚧

Exciting improvements, funded by Measure G, are continuing at Jan Park! Construction has resumed, and we appreciate your patience as we work to make the park even more enjoyable and accessible for our community.

To allow the construction team to safely complete the work, please note the following temporary closures:
- Area near the picnic shelter: Closed through 9/16/26
- Pathway entrance near the park sign on Jan Drive: Closed 8/31/26 – 9/16/26

The improvements include new accessible concrete pathways, additional play equipment, and new site furnishings, all designed to enhance the park experience for visitors of all ages.

The rest of the park, including the play area, remains open. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make these exciting improvements to Jan Park!

🍂 Toddler & Me Classes Start Next Week! 🍂

We still have a few spots available in our fall Early Explorers and Music Movers classes! Designed for ages 1–3, these caregiver-and-child classes are a great way to get out of the house, meet other local parents, and give your toddler a chance to learn, play, and interact with children their own age. 💛

🌿 Early Explorers – Tuesdays
Explore nature together through park walks, sensory play, songs, movement, and hands-on activities! Early experiences in nature can help encourage curiosity, confidence, sensory development, and gross motor skills.

🎶 Music Movers – Thursdays
Sing, dance, move, and experiment with instruments together! Music and movement can help toddlers develop coordination, language and listening skills, rhythm, creativity, and self-expression.

Classes are just 45 minutes and are divided by age:

What a great day celebrating the completion of the La Sierra Community Center Multi-Use Field! 🎉

Today’s ribbon cutting marked the completion of a major Measure G investment, bringing improvements that will provide more opportunities for recreation, sports, and community use. The project includes new natural grass, new drainage and irrigation, an accessible walking path, perimeter fencing and gates, improved T-ball infields, and bleachers.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this exciting addition to the La Sierra Community Center. Most importantly, thank you to our community for supporting Measure G and investing in the future of Carmichael’s parks. 💚

Here’s to many years of games, practices, memories, and community connection on this new field!

Basketball season will be here before we know it, and CRPD has opportunities for players from Kindergarten through Middle School to learn the game, build confidence, make friends, and experience what it means to be part of a team.
