WOW, CARLINVILLE. đŸŽ„â€ïž

We’ve been keeping a pretty big secret
 although, to be fair, we didn’t know the whole secret either. 😂

For the past few weeks, the Main Street Florist team has been working behind the scenes on what we were told was a “Midwest Living photo shoot” at our beautiful Macoupin County Courthouse.

Trees were decorated. Poinsettias were created (no real poinsettia can be found in October), Garland was hung. Batteries were tested (and tested
and tested). We watched the weather like crazy, dodged the rain, hauled, decorated, adjusted and stressed over every little detail.

And then today we found out who we were actually decorating for.

HALLMARK. â€ïžđŸŽ„

Finding out that Carlinville WON Hallmark’s Merriest Christmas Town and that a Hallmark Christmas movie will be filmed right here in our community in 2027 was absolutely surreal.

Today was a very long day, but it was one of those days that completely fills your cup. Watching our courthouse lawn become filled with holiday magic, seeing our community gather and then getting to be there for that incredible announcement felt like we were living in our own little Hallmark movie.

We are so incredibly honored that Main Street Florist got to play a small part in making today’s Christmas magic happen.

We have a few of behind-the-scenes photos and stories from the making of this “photo shoot” that we’ll share over the next few days.

We're looking for someone who loves working with their hands, has an eye for design, enjoys people, and is ready to learn. Floral experience is a plus, but creativity, work ethic and personality matter too!

Approximately 24-30 hours/week + Saturdays once trained.

Yesterday we welcomed the Accounting team from Karmak for a private class at MSF!

They stepped a little outside their comfort zones to create keepsake pumpkin arrangements with permanent flowers, got creative, and even broke a few design rules along the way. (Yes, there are rules
or at least principles + elements. 😉)

Today was a good day to spread a little joy. 💚

For Petal It Forward, florists across the country head into their communities with free flowers and one simple mission: make people smile. Each person receives TWO bouquets: one to keep and one to pass along to someone else who could use a little happiness.

It’s an initiative started by the Society of American Florists and built around something we get to see every day: flowers make people happy.

We were so happy to have a couple of helpers from Carlinville Area Hospital Behavioral Health join us today! Together, we surprised around 60 people throughout our community with flowers, which means even more smiles as those second bouquets get passed along.

Their team also wanted to help us spread another important message: mental health support is available right here in our community. Carlinville Area Hospital Behavioral Health offers individual counseling for ages 5+, with support for anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, relationships, trauma, behavioral concerns and more. They also offer a Senior Behavioral Health Program specifically designed to support older adults through emotional, behavioral and mental health concerns.

Flowers can brighten a day. A kind gesture can change a moment. And sometimes knowing where to find support can make an even bigger difference. 💚

A little Christmas magic is happening tomorrow in Carlinville! 🎄

You may start seeing the Midwest Living team around town as early as today, preparing for tomorrow’s big event!

This team has spent weeks planning something special, creating an elaborate Christmas scene to showcase our beautiful little town for the nation to see.

As they get everything ready, let’s give them a warm Carlinville welcome! Be kind, be welcoming, and if you see someone who could use a hand, please offer one. They’ve put so much into making this happen, and we want them to see firsthand what makes this community so special.

Now, about that weather


We may be looking at another 62626 Day situation. And if there’s one thing we learned this summer, it’s that a little rain doesn’t stop Carlinville from showing up!

Every effort is being made to keep tomorrow’s celebration outdoors on the northeast side of the courthouse. However, if rain moves in during our 4–5 PM window, the event will move inside the courthouse.

But here’s what we really want you to know: COME RAIN OR SHINE!

Remember 62626 Day? Once-in-a-lifetime celebrations don’t come with a do-over. And this is another one of those moments.

This summer, we showed our community that we show up to celebrate our little town, no matter what Mother Nature has planned.

Now let’s show the nation.

Bring your family, your friends, and an umbrella if you need one. Just BE THERE.
