Farm Talk Tuesday 🚜 📻 🌽: Dried Flowers!
I can't get enough of the beauty of dried flowers! We put a lot of effort at the farm to preserve as many blooms as possible through drying, pressing, and seed saving. Zinnias, celosia, cosmos, marigolds, lisianthus, snapdragons, and rudbeckia work great with these methods.
Drying flowers is one of the most straightforward and time-efficient techniques. Gather the flowers together, secure them with a rubber band at the stems, and hang them upside down in the house (I like to do mine in the attic) for about two weeks, which usually does the trick. The best part? These dried beauties last for several seasons if you take care of them. I've crafted marigold garlands and unique backdrops using this dried flower method. Dried flowers are not only stunning, but they're also budget-friendly and can bring some cheer to your space during the long winter months! Here are some pics of our dried flower process.
