Welp, I suppose the cat’s out of the bag since a lot of our friends and family met our newest family member this past weekend!
We are officially a three dog / three cat household, which I believe also qualifies us as ‘insane’ 😂. My friend asked me to stop in and check on their dogs while they were out of town and I fell in love with their foster dog the moment I saw her 🥰 She’s a Great Pyrenees and we wanted to see how she did with livestock, so she came out for a couple of visits and was an absolute ANGEL with Darwin and Myra, the free range chickens, and the sheep and goats. She would like to play with the kitties but is quickly finding out they’re not interested and would prefer to cuddle 😄
This little beauty (well, not ‘little’… she’s about 85 lbs and could stand to gain some - look how tiny she makes 60 lb Darwin look!) has had a hard life and has absolutely zero reason to trust or love humans, but somehow she is the most gentle, loving girl and is one of the most well behaved dogs we’ve ever had. She belongs with us and we are so happy 💗 Thank you to Taylor Petry and Humane Society of Delaware County for loving her until she could come home to us.
P.s. Her name is ‘Purple’, because the a-holes that owned her were not able to give her shelter or nutrition, get her spayed or keep maggots from literally eating the skin on her face, but somehow found the time to dye her beautiful fur purple. She was shaved at the shelter but her fur is coming in beautifully and I can’t wait to see that big fluffy Pyr coat when it’s grown out! We haven’t decided on a name for her yet… I am open to suggestions 😊
