Autumn + Evan: The proposal 💍❤️

Evan proposed to Autumn in an adorable way. The Florida Keys had been a second home for Evan since he was a child, going there every year with his parents. And since being together, it became Autumns as well, as she would join the Barnwells on their annual trip.

This time, though, they were visiting with Autumns family, and they were all conspiring with Evan to make this moment special. Autumn’s sister Ashley even picked out Autumn’s outfit for the dinner they were all going to, which started to raise Autumn’s suspicions.

After dinner, they all stopped at Bahia Honda State Park to take a stroll on the beach. And as they walked, Evan was scoping out the perfect spot and getting his nerves under control.

Evan gave Ashley the cue, and she started taking pictures. While Autumn struck different poses, Evan got down on one knee behind her, waiting for her to turn around.

After a whole minute of kneeling and waiting, and a ton of pictures with him in the background on one knee, Ashley told Autumn to turn around.

And when she did, there was the love of her life, asking her to be his forever. To which she very happily said “Yes!”

I haven't formally introduced myself in a while, so as most reception speeches begin, 'for those of you who don't know me', my name is Lhegend Carter.

I'm the CEO and founder of Lhegendary Weddings, where wedding ceremonies have been reimagined to be the most beautiful reflection of a couple's love and their story.

I've been a street vendor, a submariner in the US Navy, a cashier in multiple KFCs, a poet, a performer, a retail Allocator, Planner, and Logistics manager, and now I have the best job in the world, making couple's and guests feel like they've experienced the best wedding ceremony they've ever attended.

Personally, I've been married to my beautiful partner for 22 years, and we have three children ranging in age from 13 - 21.

We're from New York and have been living in Cape Coral, Florida, since 2014 when I accepted a position with Chicos at their corporate office in Fort Myers. That was all part of the universe's plan because otherwise, I don't know how I would have stumbled upon being an Officiant.

I truly love what I do. And I take this role seriously. You may not remember everything I said on your wedding day, but you will forever feel like no one could have given you a better experience.

We must feed ourselves and the crew to ensure we remain healthy (vitamins and minerals or kisses and long walks and chats to keep scurvy at bay), and we listen to our crew mate’s concerns, their dreams, and wishes to ensure we all can find joy throughout the journey.

If you build it, they will come.

Don't focus on those open dates on your calendar. Focus and prepare for the flood of inquiries that are going to come in.

Is there anything in your process that can be streamlined more efficiently?

Do you have apps that you pay for that you haven't fully explored?

When's the last time you looked at your website to see if there was anything that needs updating?

And there's probably many more improvements/ housekeeping items that you could be doing instead of worrying.

Times are a little different now. Whether its a new generation entering into the wedding space, or the economy, or we just got high off the supply after covid, there definitely seems to be a shift in timing of when couples book their vendors.

All you can do is control the 'controllables' and stay on top of your game. They're coming.

Brittney + Anthony: The proposal

Brittney had been hinting about a proposal. Ok, to be honest, she was doing a little more than hinting. 😊

But Anthony was already on the same page. They’d gone ring shopping months prior, so Anthony had an idea of what type of ring Brittney liked. He bought the ring and started putting his plan together.

He wanted it to be intimate, and he knew just where to do it. They went for a walk in Eden Park, one of their favorite parks to stroll.

As they walked the trail in the park, Anthony tried his best to contain his nerves, but he kept fidgeting with the ring box in his pocket. So much so that Brittney noticed and asked him what he was doing in his pocket. Luckily, he had his keys in there as well and was able to come up with a quick cover story.

Funny enough, the entire conversation as they walked was about weddings or marriage because a lot of Brittney’s friends were getting married.

He didn’t know exactly where in the park he was going to do it, but when they came upon the perfect spot overlooking Mirror Lake, he knew this was the spot.

They stopped, and while Brittney took in the beautiful view, Anthony took a step back and got into position.

Brittney turned around, and the view got even better because there on one knee with ring in hand was Anthony, asking her to be his forever.

And after she got over her shock, she very happily said, “Yes!” to the love of her life.

Dear engaged couple,

I understand your thought process when it comes to considering a family member or friend to officiate your wedding.

You want a ceremony that's meaningful, intentional, personal, and delivered by someone with whom you have a connection. Not some stranger.

I get it. And your feelings are valid.

Eleven years ago, when my sister asked me to perform her wedding, she did so for the same reasons. But also because she knew I had experience from being a performing poet of being creative as well as making people not only hear what I was saying but also feel it. (This is an art on its own.)

Brandon ❤️ Shamol - How they met -> First date.

Their seed of happily ever after was planted 4 years ago. After years of unknowingly orbiting each other, living in the same cities at the same time, and even working in the same hospital for some time, the universe suggested to Brandon, as he scrolled on Facebook, that Shamol may be a person he knows. After looking at a few pictures, Brandon realized he did not know Shamol. But now wanting to, sent a friend request.😊

Almost a year later, on the day after his birthday, Shamol was viewing all of his shoutouts, saw the friend request, liked who he saw, and accepted it. And then he received a gift that has just kept on giving. And that was Brandon sliding into his DMs.😊 In that spot where their seed was planted earlier, a little bud protruded with a simple “Happy Birthday” message.

The conversation stayed in the DMs for months after that. Over time, the conversation deepened. As did their connection. Once they’d graduated to texts and facetimes, their first date followed a couple of weeks later. And through ziplining, playing arcade games, racing go-carts, dinner, and closing down a club, they not only realized how competitive the other is, they also confirmed for themselves that they were indeed not crazy for feeling what they had been feeling the past couple of months. And that this could possibly be as amazing as they thought it could be. And, as we all are witnessing today, it was… and it is! And they have been inseparable since.

Dana and Alex - The first date 🫶

Introduced by a mutual friend, there was something that instantly told them they could be a match. After talking for a little bit, they agreed and were on their first date days later.

To keep it casual, Dana suggested they go play pool. 😊Alex arrived first and grabbed a beer from the bar.

When Dana arrived, “Wow” was Alex’s first thought. He can still remember precisely what she was wearing, how good she smelled, and how he felt a sense of calm. And when she, too, ordered a beer, he was in love. 😊

Dana was quickly falling for Alex as well. She’s not sure what she was expecting, but he surprised her for sure. She hadn’t laughed that much in a while, and he was ever the gentleman.

As they played, they talked and got to know each other a little and found themselves thoroughly enjoying each other’s company. For the record, Alex lost most of the games they played. This didn’t bother him much. Not only because he was admiring her great form 😉, but with each passing minute, he found himself liking her more and more.

When they parted ways at the end of the date, they were already making plans to see each other the next day. And they’ve been making plans to see each other the next day ever since.
