We are frequently asked if dogs can be part of a couple's wedding day, and the answer is YES! We are a pet-friendly wedding venue, just make sure to follow our resort's pet policy and let us know in advance so we can help you coordinate any details 🫶

And if your fur babies are not able to make it in person (well, you know what we mean ☺️) then including them in your wedding details is such a fun way to incorporate those special family members into your big day 💍

Happy Retirement, Captain! 🎉🚒

Last weekend, we had the absolute honor of hosting the retirement party for Captain JD Schulgen of the Garland Fire Department at The Barn at The Silver Spur Resort. After 40 years of dedicated service, and a legacy of leadership, the Captain is hanging up his helmet and stepping into a well-earned retirement.

It was an evening filled with heartfelt gratitude for a man who has given so much to his community, and friends and family ready to celebrate an incredible career and incredible person.

Captain Schulgen, we thank you for your decades of bravery, commitment, and sacrifice. May this next chapter be filled with relaxation, adventure, and all the things that bring you joy! 🏕️🎣🍻

If your dream location for your special day is a casual ranch setting, look no further than The Barn at The Silver Spur Resort. Located on 35 acres in Canton Texas The Barn provides the perfect backdrop for your ceremony and reception.

Your guests will sit comfortably in a glen shaded by mature Elm and Pecan trees with our lake and fountain in the background. Your entrance can range from a walk down a shaded path to a carriage ride around the lake with drop off directly behind our wedding arbor. The picturesque setting is bordered by a running stream on one side and cows grazing the neighbor’s pastures on the other.

The new couple and guests will return to our newly built rustic Barn for a reception and dancing. The Barn has all the amenities you will need to complete your dream; keep it simple or decorate lavishly as suits your style. Open the barn doors and let the party flow out onto surrounding lawns, or keep the party small within the rustic walls of this climate controlled building. However you envision your day, our experienced staff will assist in making the dream come true.
