Look. The last time we had this kid play Native Son, we had a really good time. Matt Conyers has incredible vocal control and a catalog of songs from every decade of real country and h***y tonk, plus some modern day folk and Americana bangers. Matt is apparently going up to Montana to cowboy or something for the summer, so we get him twice before he goes!
Don’t miss his first show with us on Friday, April 25 from 8pm-11pm at 100 W Dallas St in Downtown Canton! 🎸

Big Night Tonight in Downtown Canton!
Two New Menu Specials at Native Son!
- Roast Beef Po-Boy on French rolls, with house-made pickled veggies, Creole Mustard & Debris!
- SYSCO screwed up our order and dropped off a bunch of Top Sirloin Baseball Steaks! So we decided to make a Sundried Chimichurri & serve it with Roasted Golden Potatoes! Their loss, our gain! 😎🥩
From 5pm-10pm, is holding their 5th Anniversary Party, behind their shop! Native Son will be on hand slinging nuggets & waffle fries! They are raising money for the ABC Room, so go support a good cause! Grab your drinks to go from Native Son and bring them to the event!
Then the after party is at Native Son, where is playing solo acoustic versions of all your favorite 90’s Alternative Rock Songs!
Hurry and grab all of this goodness because once it is gone, it’s gone! All menu items are limited!

People often inquire about the pictures on our walls, and I love sharing their stories.
The Brahma Bull a lot of y’all notice belonged to one of my great Grandfathers, “Tant”. He was a Marine. Everyone just called him Tant. Everyone. He had jowls like the USMC mascot, he loaded his own ammo, did three tours in Korea(after being injured), and would let his poodle Tippy lick his bald head while he watched the Home Shopping Network.
This bull was Stanley. Growing up in the Middle East, when I came home for visits, I called Stanley my “Camel Bull” because of his hump. Stanley got pretty frustrated all by his lonesome, and the Athens paper reported that when they tried to sell him at the sale barn, he bucked loose, and terrorized the Whataburger parking lot.
Staring at this portrait of Stanley over my great grandparents mantle brought me a lot of joy as a young boy. A couple of years ago, my Aunt JoJo had a reproduction made for me, and I think it’s in the perfect place, where his legacy can shine on in every Cheeseburger or Strip Steak we sell.

Hey Friends! Reminder that one of our favorite Native Sons, .strings.sticks will be hitting the “big stage” at this Friday! Spots are limited, but we have some early dinner availability around 5pm and plenty of space after 9pm for late night bites and drinks!
Then SATURDAY 3/29! We are opening for a special small menu and full bar w/ NO RESERVATIONS! Walk-In only! 5pm-12am! If you are attending , come pre-game or grab a cocktail for the square! We’ll have an almost all lady crew! Maxine will be bartending; Henleigh and Gretchen will be helping on the floor! Anna will hold down kitchen with Dylan & Josiah (not ladies)!
