Come Celebrate Chef Ben's Last Week at Native Son!
Dear Native Son Family,
It’s with full hearts and a few tears that we invite you to a very special evening.
On Thursday, May 14, our Head Cook Benjamin Ainsworth is hosting his farewell 5-course dinner before he heads to New York this summer to cook at Sunset Beach on Shelter Island.
Ben started with us at our Feathered Friend chicken popup as a fry cook. We’ve watched him grow into an incredible chef — holding down our kitchen, bringing creativity and soul to every plate, and recently winning Best Cook/Chef in Van Zandt County from the Van Zandt County News Readers’ Choice Awards.
This dinner is Ben’s night. He’s personally creating a 5-course tasting menu that showcases his growth and our signature blend of Cajun, Texan, and Southern flavors. It’s going to be bold, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
We’re a little heartbroken (and honestly shooting ourselves in the foot) by helping arrange this opportunity for him — but that’s what family does. We’re so proud of the chef and man he’s become, and we can’t wait to see him return in the fall with new fire.
