🌈DYK that you can park for free on the beach during the Cannon Beach Sandcastle Contest (6/20)? Access is available via the Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site. Follow the route past Haystack Rock to our designated parking area near the Ecola Court Beach Access Ramp. An ADA parking lot will be available closer to the contest site. Beach ⏰Parking opens at 8:30am, and all vehicles must be off the sand by 3:00pm.

Not comfortable driving on the beach? Free public parking is available at our Midtown and Downtown lots.

Meet the teams of the Masters Division at the 62nd Cannon Beach Sandcastle Contest 🏆Introducing team Mai Tai!

“Like the famous cocktail made up of many ingredients our Team is a blend of a variety of talented sculptors. Not only do our team members create in sand they also sculpt in many other mediums. Some enjoy ice and snow carving, carve pumpkins, sculpt with fruit and vegetables, carve stone, draw, chainsaw carve and do welded art. For this Cannon Beach Sandcastle Competition our team brainstorms weeks in advance for a theme to the sculpture. We then join our talents and create a flat plot of sand, within hours, into the amazing sculpture you come to see.”

Meet the teams of the Masters Division at the 62nd Cannon Beach Sandcastle Contest 🏆Introducing the Ozymandias!

“Our team started with a family visit to the sandcastle competition in 2009. We did a family entry the next year and after 4 years in the large group category and lots of learning we qualified for master's and have participated every year since 2014. The team is made up of family plus friends. Our team's name comes from a poem about a traveler who finds the remains of a gigantic sculpture in the desert with this written on the base: ‘Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair!’ That's our team motto 😊 We love being on the beach, working the sand, and spending time together.”

Can you believe July 4th is only a month away?!🗽 There is still time to register for the Cannon Beach Independence Day Parade! Kids, bikes, old cars, decorated entries, and walking groups are welcome to enter, with a special invitation to all veterans. No political entries.
