Have you lived in the area your whole life and wondered why this place is called Beech Hall Corner? In the 1800s, a lot more people had reasons to go from bustling Cannelton to Rome and Derby. After the road moved from the east side of Deer Creek to the current route on the west side, this location saw a lot of traffic. This corner in the road, just before the bridge, made a perfect location for an event space. It was a dance hall made of beech wood! The historic well in the front yard was even used to cool the beer. Interestingly, we have not been able to find any pictures of the site. Maybe our grandparents didn't want any evidence of what went on there! If you do have a picture of it, please do share. In the meantime, ChatGPT imagines it looked something like this image.
