I really want to say thank you to everyone from the bottom of my heart. It's been so special meeting all of you the last 32 years. You have all become friends and family. Thank you to everyone who has stopped by to give me a big hug and for all the congratulations cards and all the goodies. A special thanks you to Lorie A for the beautiful pictures of my mom and family. The shop was full of customers and we cried together looking at the pictures. Thank you to everyone who drove from all over the Finger Lakes region who came to congratulate me in person. It's been 2weeks of happiness and sadness at the same time. God bless you all. After 32 years in business, Antoinette Infurna, owner of Antoinette’s Bridal and Prom, has decided to retire.

Canandaigua, NY October 26, 2022: Antoinette Infurna, owner of Antoinette’s Bridal and Prom, has announced that she will be retiring as of November 19, 2022.

Born and raised in Realmonte, Sicily, Antoinette immigrated to the United States in 1967 as a teenager. Antoinette learned how to sew at a young age in Sicily by attending a sewing trade school. She worked at Allison Athletics sewing sporting attire and as a supervisor at Ontario ARC before opening her bridal shop.

Antoinette opened Antoinette’s Bridal and Prom in 1990 after years of dreaming of owning a bridal shop. “At the time, there was a bridal shop in Victor, NY and many in Rochester. After taking entrepreneurial classes at FLCC and learning how to run a business, I knew there was a market in Canandaigua for a bridal shop,” said Antoinette.

“It’s bitter-sweet seeing the bridal shop close,” said Santa Abraham, Antoinette’s daughter. “My sister and I grew up traveling to bridal markets with our parents and helped with selling dresses in the shop. Our favorite part was bridal shows. We worked and modeled at a lot of shows in the last 32 years.”

“Owning the bridal shop was truly a family affair,” said Antoinette. “My husband, Libertino, managed all the paperwork for ordering and paying bills. During our very busy seasons, my mother and sister-in-law would help me with dress alterations.”

In retirement, Antoinette plans on continuing her volunteer work at charitable organizations. She is also looking forward to traveling and spending more time with family. Antoinette wants to thank her customers and those who voted Antoinette’s Bridal “The Best of the Finger Lakes” for five consecutive years. She will miss all her customers the most. Over the years, they have become like cherished friends and family.

There will be a retirement sale from now through November 19. All wedding, prom, mothers and special occasion dresses are marked under $99. Cash or check only. Hurry in for the best selection. Everything must go.

Oct. 25 – Nov. 5: By appointment only
Nov. 7th – 11th: 1-7
Nov. 12th – 11-5
Nov. 14th – 19th: 11-7
