Rock garden on the Mountain 🌄
This is an experimental Rock garden with nothing except scattered upon rocks in the 5' No Plant Zone near the house. Yes, watering has been required, yet these little baby are getting a great start in 2025.
Calendula, Cosmos, Bachelor buttons, Kale and a volunteer tomato have found a safe haven to grow!

Feverfew to the Rescue! 🐝

We are moving into the dearth season, the dreaded dry out of many mountain flowers. Dry, hot weather with more to come makes it a challenge for our .
Feverfew just started putting on a show this week feeding some hungry bees & moths.. bring it on while you can!

Flash Friday Honey Season 🐝❤️🐝

The wait is over, and it's time to pull honey frames for harvesting!
I have spent time in the hives looking for fully capped frames to bring in for extracting. If frames are only partially capped, they stay in the hive. So far 7 frames are ready, yet there are lots more hives to check.
It's worth the wait to taste this year's harvest - sweet & floral ...could it be bottle brush plant or ???
