Mark your calendars for a ride across Story County! The Heart of Iowa Nature Trail Bike Ride will celebrate 21 continuous miles of pavement connecting the five communities below:

📆Saturday, Aug. 9
👉 Rolling start 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. in Slater
👉 Ride to Huxley - 4 mi.
👉 Ride to Cambridge - 4 mi.
👉 Ride to Maxwell - 7 mi.
👉 Ride to Collins - 5.5 mi.
✂ 12:30 p.m. - Ribbon Cutting at Trailside Park, Collins, IA

Each small community along the way has charming, locally-owned businesses that have seen great growth in recent years, as bike traffic picks up. Show your support by shopping/eating small as you pass through!

Join for as much or as little of the ride as you like! Registration is encouraged, but not required (free).

Just decided today — we’ll be serving made-to-order omelets in the morning! 🥚🍳
Choose from breakfast sausage, ham, peppers, onion, and cheese — all folded into two fresh eggs and cooked right in front of you — $8 each.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Cambridge Jubilee Committee. Come hungry and support our small-town!

Big Hud BBQ is teaming up with the Cambridge Jubilee Committee for an incredible day in our small town! We’re putting the final touches on our famous BBQ Beans and firing up the rest of the menu to welcome over 250 bicyclists rolling through town.

🍹 Chris’ Go Go – Opening at 9am with drink specials all day
🚲 Ballard Creek Builders Raffle – Win a Trek FX1 Disc Hybrid Bike! 🎟 Tickets are $10 each, with all proceeds going toward the Cambridge Trailhead building.

Come on out, grab some great food & drinks, and enjoy a day full of fun as we support our small town and give our cycling guests a warm Cambridge welcome. ❤️

🔥 BIG HUD BBQ is back on the trail this weekend! 🔥

We’ll be set up for the Heart of Iowa Nature Trail Ribbon Cutting and bringing the heat with some BBQ favorites!

🥪 Pulled Pork Sandwiches – tender, smoky, and packed with flavor
🍢 Teriyaki Chicken – grilled to perfection (also available on a stick!)

🔥 Big Hud BBQ is back at it again! 🔥

We’re teaming up with the Cambridge Jubilee Committee this Saturday, August 9th am for the Heart of Iowa Nature Trail ribbon cutting!

🏁 We’ll be set up along the Cambridge Bike Trail and ready to serve starting around 8:30 AM with some early-morning fuel:
🥚 Smoked hard-boiled eggs
🍓 Fruit on a stick
💪 Protein balls
