From stockyard donkey to Burro Buddies’ absolute STAR!

Meet Mr. Pickles—our most requested donkey, resident diva, and king of the side-eye!

This little guy is SASSY, full of personality, and knows exactly how to work a crowd. Don’t take that side-eye personally… he gives it to EVERYONE!

Pickles knows his job, knows when it’s showtime, and most importantly… he knows there better be TREATS involved!

He’s come a long way from his stockyard days, and now he’s stealing hearts, posing for pictures, and living his best life as a Burro Buddies celebrity!

A little sass, a whole lot of personality, and just enough attitude to keep us all entertained. We wouldn't have him any other way!

Behind the cute donkeys is a whole lot of work—but building Burro Buddies from the ground up has been worth every dirty boot, long day, and late night.

I really couldn’t do it without my husband, though. Married 19 years and counting, and I never imagined this chapter of our life would include getting to be a small part of so many other couples starting their lives together.

Meet some of the boys of Burro Buddies!

Pickles & Petey already know when that halter and saddle go on, it’s showtime — but now there’s a new guy in the crew!

Peppers is the newest member of Burro Buddies, and he’s officially ready to join us for the Fall 2026 season!

His very first event debut was at Mabelle Estates, where he quickly figured out that this event life comes with LOTS of attention — including plenty of cuddles with their sweet owner, Deyni!

Then he made his wedding debut at one of our favorite venues, All 4 One Farms|Jacksonville Wedding Venue and did such a great job. He had sweet cuddles and photos with the bride and all the guests!

And if you meet Peppers, you’ll quickly learn this boy is a LOVE BUG. He absolutely loves attention, scratches and snuggles and is happiest when he gets all the attention.

Our donkeys truly enjoy the interaction, attention and new experiences that come with event days — it provides the mental stimulation and enrichment they enjoy!

Limited Fall 2026 dates remain
Spring 2027 is filling up, and we are booking into Fall 2027. If you are looking at a Saturday they go quick! So if you are thinking of having us for your event, contact us before your date is gone!

This week, we’re heading to California for the Donkey Welfare Symposium at UC Davis, and I am genuinely so excited!!
When I first fell in love with donkeys, I had no idea just how intelligent, emotional and affectionate they are—or how deeply they connect with their humans. The more I’ve learned about them, the more passionate I’ve become about educating others about these incredibly misunderstood animals.
I also absolutely love bringing them out into the world and watching the joy their presence brings to people. Seeing someone light up when they meet one of our donkeys is still one of my most favorite parts of what we do.
As Burro Buddies grows, I want my knowledge to grow right along with it. I’m excited to learn from donkey experts, bring that knowledge home to our herd, and continue sharing what I learn with the people we meet.
