Hiii everyone! I just wanted to pop on the 365 page to give an update on my current health status and situation. Some may know and some may not if they’re not on my personal page but I’ll speed update everyone on this post. 🫶🏼
The Start:
Long story short..I went to the ER on a Wednesday last year for pain I just couldn’t push through anymore (I have a pretty high pain tolerance). After some tests, they found a large mass in my stomach that’s also attached. The wanted me to see another doctor…so Thursday I was referred to Erlanger to meet with specialists and talk about options biopsy, removal, and whether it could be cancer-related or hopefully just a benign mass. So I went…After looking everything over, they decided the best thing to do is to go in that following Monday, open me up, remove the mass, and go from there.
The Surgery:
Arrived early..they rolled me back.. i dont remember the rest.. after waking up the doctor came by this morning and said everything went great. Surgery went smooth and they didn’t need any extra blood and had no issues. Once they opened me up, they ended up removing everything…ovaries, tubes, and uterus and 24 lymph nodes in my stomach..because it was in fact cancer…stage three. They believe they got everything they could out, but I’ll still need to go through radiation and chemo to make sure it’s completely gone and doesn’t come back.
The Radiation Treatments:
I started radiation a few weeks after surgery and I rang the bell 🔔 🫶🏼🖤 Finally after 28 sessions, 56 hours of driving back and forth from Tennessee, weird side effects, being uncomfortable and crap sleep. I'm finally done with radiation. I definitely do not want to do that ever again..
The Chemo Treatments:
Now on to the next step 🤞🏼Last week I had my port placed a little uncomfortable, but not too bad. I started chemo this past Monday what a long drawn out emotional day, and I won’t lie… my nerves have been all over the place. I’m just taking it one day at a time, because honestly, that’s all you can do. Excuse the putfy face cry crying and S/O to Chris for going with me and being there & helping me fix my bun because it was a mess 😭 and I cant forget my blankee that Tina had made for me with Bella 🥹
The good news is still maintaining my weight like they asked even though it’s hard… my scans showed no new growth, and the two areas they’re keeping an eye on haven’t changed. We’ll recheck those at the next scan. As long as everything continues to go well, my second treatment will be at the end of the month.
I want to take a moment to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has checked on me, gave me advice and suggestions, called, texted, helped in any way, brought gifts or food andddd coffee lol, donated, or just showed up with love and kindness. I could never thank y’all enough.. it truly means more to me than you’ll ever know. 💕Fingers crossed that the next few days and weeks go smoothly.
I was messaged today asking if I will be present at the benefit on the 21st because I’ve started chemo, YES!! I will definitely be at there. I cant miss it.. some of my amazing support circle has worked so hard to put this together, and I wouldn’t miss it. There will be plates of food, desserts, a cake walk, door prizes, raffles or you can just come by to hang out and show some love and say Hi!! I hope to see y’all there. 🐝💛
