Imagine my surprise to find out I won an Elopement Legend Award!! It is such an honor to have my photo chosen alongside these winners. Seriously, check out the full list of winners. The photos this round are soooo good!

At the end of T+M's Big Bend elopement, they wrote "Just Married!" in the dust on their back glass and this photo of the wind whipping Tenisha's veil around as she watches Mason has always quietly been a favorite of mine so for it to be awarded a winner was such a cool feeling.

Moab is forever going to be one of my favorite places for elopements. Where else can you offroad through a canyon, walk 20 feet and find a location like this to say your vows?

I am still day dreaming about this past weekend's bold and colorful wedding. When I walked in and saw Claire and her team from lining the tables in fruit and bold florals I knew we were about to have a great day.

Emma and Ian's wedding was one of the most beautiful, color filled wedding days I've photographed and Emma is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet.

The gorgeous mixture of bold colors and fruit has me itching for spring and more colorful days to come!

How do you make your engagement session feel less like a performance and more fun?

Add in movement or an activity. I love to photograph engagement sessions where you treat it more like a date to explore a new area.

For A+J's engagement session we walked around downtown Bastrop, explored the cozy bookstore since A told me she loves books, and then we walked down to the river for sunset.

The more you can create real laughter and have fun with your session, the more your photos are going to look like you rather than a stiff interpretationof you.

I have been dreaming of photographing a couple at the P.A. Smith Hotel for years now, I just was waiting for the right couple. When Emily told me what she had in mind for their engagement session, I knew the historic Navasota hotel was going to be the perfect spot.

This year we're embracing colorful, fun vintage inspired sessions at gorgeous historical venues.
