Why Destination Weddings
Exactly 20 years ago I was a soon to be bride. Because I started my career in the hospitality business and because I already had a few professional events under my belt I was confident I could plan and produce my own destination wedding back to my hometown. At the time I was living in the Caribbean, planning my wedding in Venice -Italy and inviting people from ....all over the globe. At this point, you might think this is it! You might think I enjoy the planning process so much that I started my wedding planning business there on the spot. And ... you will be so wrong ! Yes I had a very nice wedding. However, it was a stressful and overwhelming experience for me. I will be perfectly candid: the evening before my wedding I had a meltdown where I looked at my now-husband straight in the eyes and made myself perfectly clear: “ This is better be it. You understand me? I will not go through another of these things ever again !” Coordinating people coming from different countries, speaking different languages with different cultures, make sure they were all taken care of and at the right place at the right time while trying to figure out how the wine, cake, and favors will get to the reception site, and get time for a manicure while planning gondolas and water taxis from the church to the reception and I could go on. I did it! I survived it .... just to tell you not to ever attempt this without an expert planner at your side. Ever!
If it is true that in September 2020 I will celebrate my 20th anniversary ( so I did stick with the intention not to try to plan my own wedding day ever again) today I am very proud to state that I have planned, designed, produced and or coordinated more than 600 weddings.
Exclusive Wed Moons is what tied my life experience. My background in the hospitality business, my traveling, my living in the Caribbean for 17 years, my love for unique celebrations as constant reminder that life is too short and precious not to be celebrated, explored and loved, my not be satisfied with “average” and my dramatic and traumatic experience as a bride with no professional help for my wedding.
