I am absolutely thrilled and honored to announce Grand Master Christine Bannon-Rodrigues to the Council of the IKCG!

I’ve had the privilege of knowing GM Christine for more than 45 years, and she truly needs no introduction. Her accomplishments and contributions to the martial arts speak for themselves.

Christine has been a mainstay on the international tournament circuit, but what I admire most is that she continues to get into the trenches and teach every day. She remains dedicated to sharing the Art, inspiring others, and helping people become the very best versions of themselves.

I couldn’t be prouder to have her join this Council. I know she will bring tremendous knowledge, experience, and passion to the work ahead!

Steve Nugent’s Karate Institute had the privilege of learning the Escrimas from Grand Master Michael Burton!

The chance to be trained by someone with his depth of knowledge, skill, and experience was truly an honor. Students also had the special opportunity to purchase a pair of his experts hand-crafted Escrimas!

On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, Senior Grandmaster Nugent had the distinct honor of promoting Grandmaster Chris Horlbogen to the prestigious rank of 10th Degree Black Belt.
