The Poulenc Trio, which marks its 20th anniversary this year, teams with soprano Shawnette Sulker for an intimate performance at the historic Kohl Mansion. The trio of oboe, piano and bassoon will perform a world-premiere arrangement of songs by their namesake composer, Francis Poulenc, highlighting some of his “most beautiful and lyrical works,” according to a press release, that was commissioned by Music at Kohl Mansion. The program also includes another recent commission, “Explain Yourself!” by composer Viet Cuong, plus selections by Gioachino Rossini and Duke Ellington. Soprano Sulker has performed on Bay Area stages, including at San Francisco Opera, West Bay Opera and around the country.

Music at Kohl Mansion was honored to work with Amnon Weinstein to produce the 8-week Violins of Hope San Francisco Bay Area residency from January 16 to March 14, 2020, just before the world shut down. We mourn his passing and send our deepest condolences to the Weinstein family and to his many friends and admirers.
The luthier dedicated much of his life restoring stringed instruments that belonged to Jewish musicians during the Holocaust
