“Is a Nile cruise actually worth it?” I get this question constantly. My answer: on the right boat, it might be the best hotel in Egypt. And it moves.

Historia Boutique Nile River Cruise sails between Luxor and Aswan, designed around the glamour of 1920s river travel with a fully contemporary interior. Around 40 cabins, floor-to-ceiling windows facing the water, a rooftop pool deck, and a spa on board.

The real luxury is the format. You unpack once, and the temples come to you. Karnak and the Valley of the Kings, then Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Philae, each visited with expert Egyptologist guides while the boat handles every mile in between.

Advisor tip: itineraries run three, four, or seven nights, and the direction you sail changes the pacing. I’ll help you pick the right one. Let’s start planning.

Ask me where to stay in Napa, and I won’t even pause. Neither will most sommeliers and chefs, by the way. The answer is the same.

Auberge du Soleil began as a restaurant in 1981, on a Rutherford hillside covered in olive trees, and the rooms came later. The Michelin-starred restaurant remains the heart of the property, and the terrace looks straight down the valley over some of the most famous vineyards in America.

A few reasons clients return: the adults-focused calm, the hillside spa, and a location that puts you 10 minutes from more legendary tasting rooms than you could cover in a week.

Napa deserves a proper stay. Get in touch and let’s start planning!

Of everything I book, this is the trip I get the most questions about. Fair, because fewer people have stayed here than climb Everest in a season.

White Desert operates the only luxury camps on the Antarctic continent. You board a private jet in Cape Town, land on a blue-ice runway about five hours later, and check into a camp of just a handful of heated pods with a private chef.

The days are unlike anything else I plan. Ice tunnels, gentle summits, champagne picnics on the ice, and the option to visit a colony of thousands of emperor penguins. Some guests even continue on to the South Pole itself.

The season runs November through January, and with so few beds on the entire continent, this books out far ahead. If Antarctica is the trip, this is the way to do it. Message me to learn more!

What if you chose your next trip by how you want to feel?

For stillness, Iceland. For vitality, Costa Rica. For restoration, Thailand. For grandeur, Banff.

Same planet, four completely different states of mind.

Tell us how you want to feel, and I'll find the place that delivers it.

Booking just a hotel? Here’s something most travelers don’t know: working with a travel advisor usually costs the same as booking it yourself online.

Same rate. Very different experience.

When I book your hotel, my industry partnerships often add things the booking sites can’t: room upgrades when available, daily breakfast, resort or spa credits, and priority for early check-in and late checkout.

You also get a human. If your flight cancels or the hotel oversells, you’re not on hold with a call center. You have someone who knows you, knows the property, and can fix it fast.

And because I know these hotels personally, I’ll tell you which room category is actually worth it and which building to request. The booking site definitely won’t.

Next time you’re booking a hotel, send me a message first. It takes five minutes, and the difference is real.

Northern lights from bed. No parka required.

Welcome to Arctic TreeHouse Hotel in Rovaniemi, Finland. The suites sit up on stilts among the pines, each with a huge glass wall facing due north, so on a clear winter night the aurora shows up while you're still under the covers.

And on the nights it doesn't show? You won't be disappointed. The suites are a destination on their own with warm wood, clean Scandinavian lines, and that giant window framing a snow globe forest.

Santa Claus Village is just minutes away, which makes a trip here with kids about as magical as travel gets.

Bring the golf fanatic, the beach lover, the kid who won't leave the water, and the one who just wants to do nothing at all. This resort somehow keeps all of them happy.

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua sits on the island's northwest coast, just above D.T. Fleming Beach, regularly ranked among the best in America.

For the golfers: the Plantation Course right next door hosts the PGA Tour's season opener every January, so you're playing where the pros play.

For the kids: the Jean-Michel Cousteau Ambassadors of the Environment program turns them into junior marine biologists for the day, with reef snorkels and hands-on conservation included.

And for everyone in winter, humpback whales cruise this coastline, often close enough to spot from the resort itself.

Among Aman regulars, Amanoi has a reputation as the one that catches people off guard.

It starts with the setting. The resort is surrounded by Nui Chua National Park, overlooking Vinh Hy Bay on Vietnam’s south-central coast. Most Vietnam itineraries never come anywhere near it. Even the drive in makes it clear this is very different from Hanoi or Hoi An.

Another detail I love: the two private Spa Houses. Each one comes with its own treatment rooms, plunge pool, and either a Turkish hammam or a Russian banya. Very few resorts anywhere in the world offer anything like it.

Pavilions and pool villas are spread across the hillside, and the Beach Club below has some of the calmest swimming and snorkeling on this coast.

Vietnam keeps climbing client wish lists. Let’s start planning.

Few countries pack in this much.

Sunrise over Machu Picchu. The Sacred Valley and its Andean villages. Cusco's history layered street by street. Then Lima, one of the best food cities in the world, with two restaurants on the global top ten.

Add the Amazon rainforest or the rainbow-striped Andes, and one trip starts to feel like several.

The trick is pacing it right, and that's exactly where I come in.

If Peru is calling your name, let's start planning.

With the year more than half over, now's the perfect moment for a quick travel check-in. A few questions worth asking right now:

Holiday travel: dreaming about Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s somewhere special? Those trips are booking now, and the best properties fill first.

Fall trips: September and October are two of the best months to travel. Crowds thin out, the weather stays beautiful, and rates often improve.

Next year’s big trip: safaris, Japan, Antarctica, and other bucket-list journeys often need 9 to 12 months of lead time.

The trips that feel effortless are almost always the ones planned early. Wherever the rest of your year is headed, let's talk it through.
