I went turkey hunting this morning and I shot my first gobbler in 18 years.. it weighs 15 lbs and had a 9" beard. I shot it when I was calling it off the roost at 6:40am right after daylight. I used my 12ga Mossberg 835 loaded with Wi******er Supreme 3 1/2 mag #5 shot.

"I Never Have Forgotten Where We Came From!"

Right after 9/11 the company that I had worked for over 6 years laid me off. We lost a 65 acre farm because of the lay off and I was afraid that our family would become homeless.

We had found an old home in Cocke Co Tennessee that had been built in the 1800s. No electric and no water. The people who owned the house had said if we wanted to live there we would have to have electric and water. If we could do that then we could live there until we got back on our feet for free.

That's been over 20 years ago and the old house is still standing. The owners passed away a few years ago. It seems like it was just yesterday when we were waking up in this old house in the wintertime with ice on the floors and walls.

Since then God has certainly blessed my family. I have NEVER forgotten where we have came from.

I decided to go to Bent Creek to fish for largemouth bass using my ultralight fishing equipment. I used a Pflueger Trion spinning reel mounted on a 5' Ugly Stick Lite Pro Graphite Rod and caught several largemouth on a small crawl jig and a small crawl plug. There's nothing like catching fish out of a small creek sitting in the woods... my happy place! ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿฅฐโค๏ธ

Brandy and I went fishing at the Holston River in Rogersville at the Melindas Ferry Bridge. Check out the catfish I caught. I caught a 2 lb Flathead Catfish and a 4 lb Channel Catfish (Yellow Catfish) on my Abu Garcia SilverMax Baitcaster/Ugly Stick Lite Pro Graphite Rod. I caught the Flathead Catfish using a nightcrawler and I caught the Channel Catfish using cut bait. Thank you God for blessing us with some fish! ๐Ÿ™๐ŸŸ๐ŸŽฃ
