It's about time I reintroduce myself!
I'm Danita, but you can call me Dani. I'm a Wyoming native--born and raised, and graduated from Buffalo High School in 2004. I have a very supportive husband, Zach, and we've been married for 18 years. We have four kids, ages 17, 15, 12 and 10. They are my world. When I don't have a camera in my hands I love reading, volunteering, snuggling my cat, spending quality time with my family, and singing.
I know the saying "I've always had a camera in my hands" sounds a little cliché, but for me it's true. My dad had a nice camera that he used to capture his time overseas in the Navy, and my mom and dad made sure that they used that camera to capture my brother and my childhood with it. I grew up around thousands of photos, but the most special memory of my childhood is when the photo projector would come out, and we would look at slides. It's still one of my favorite things to do during family get togethers. I was raised knowing the importance of photos, and how they help tell the story of your life, and the lives of those you love, so I started taking photos at a young age. I very rarely leave the house without a camera of some type. That love for capturing life, grew into a passion when my husband deployed overseas, and bought me my first nice camera to capture all the special memories with our newborn while he was away. Shortly after he returned home I started my business.
What I love so much about photography is being able to capture your special moments. I love watching the laughter and connection between family members, the tears of joy at weddings, and the excitement about next steps during a high school senior's session. I love knowing that I'm capturing memories through photographs that will be passed on through generations, and that someday these albums will be looked through by you, and your family around the kitchen table while you all laugh, cry and share stories.
I'm an extremely sentimental person. I feel your joy, and even your sorrows. I've laughed, and cried with you. I feel things deeply, and that is why your memories are so important to me. From the time I pick up the camera, to the care I put into picking, and hand editing each photo, I put my whole heart into what I do.
Each time you reach out to me to book a session, I feel so honored that you've chosen me to document such important moments in your lives. You and the ones you love matter to me. Your memories matter to me. Your friendship matters to me. Thank you for supporting me and allowing me to do what I love every single day.
