Congratulations to our very own Arts Education Coordinator, Jake Grear, on receiving the 2026 Congressional Award in Cultural Excellence!✨

In celebration of Erie County’s 250th anniversary, the General Pulaski Association, the New York State 250th Commemorative Commission, Erie County, and Congressman Timothy Kennedy are proud to recognize 250 individuals whose dedication and leadership have made a meaningful impact on our cultural communities and on Erie County and Western New York. This recognition honors individuals who have furthered the mission of their cultural organizations, demonstrated outstanding service to their cultural community or the broader community, strengthened cross-cultural relationships through their leadership and interactions, or contributed to the overall well-being of Erie County and Western New York.

The time is here! Registration for our winter break camp, Sing Your Story, is officially open NOW! Head to our website at the link below or scan the QR code to register. This camp is limited to only 20 students, so don't miss your chance to participate!🎤✨🎶

The students of Sing Your Story start their day warmups and ensemble building work. After that, they split off into two groups led by a teaching artist to take different classes and rehearse songs and original monologues. The camp is complete with a personal photoshoot and a final showcase at the Shea's Smith Theatre.

Sing Your Story runs February 15th-19th, 2027, and costs $300.00 to participate. (*Financial assistance available upon request.*)

Shea’s Arts Engagement and Education is now seeking applications from arts educators, industry professionals, and/or qualified theatre artists from all across Western New York to be adjudicators for the 2026-2027 Shea’s Wonder Awards!✨
ㅤ
Our adjudicators are volunteers who agree to travel to select high schools throughout the region to provide scoring and feedback for different musical theatre productions using tools and rubrics provided for them. All adjudicators are reimbursed for their travel! Selected individuals are required to attend one mandatory training session led by the staff of Shea’s Arts Engagement and Education. Each adjudicator must only attend 3-5 productions per year.

Creative Exchange: A community engagement and relationship-building initiative that positions Shea's as a cultural connector by bringing together artists, professionals, educators, community leaders, and emerging creatives through themed networking experiences. Alicia's passion and dedication continue to expand access to the arts by creating meaningful programs and impactful experiences for diverse communities throughout Buffalo and the surrounding region. Her commitment to arts education and community engagement inspires those around her and helps make the arts more accessible for all.
