🍵✨ Fun Fact Friday ✨🍵

Did you know that “chai” literally means “tea”?

The word “chai” comes from the Chinese word chá (茶), which also simply means tea. So technically, when you say “chai tea,” you’re saying “tea tea!”

And you’ll find “cha” hiding in the names of many Japanese teas, too:

🍃 Sencha — “steamed tea”
🔥 Hojicha — “roasted tea”
🍚 Genmaicha — “brown rice tea”

🕯️🫖 Witchy Tea Wednesday: In Plain Sight🫖🕯️

Last month under the Sturgeon Full Moon, we brewed in honor of Sarah Edmonds, a woman who defied expectations, disguised herself as a man, and enlisted in the Union Army during the Civil War.

Every ingredient in this blend carries a little piece of her story:

🍃 Sencha — Green, fresh, and deceptively unassuming, just like the identity Sarah concealed while serving as “Franklin Thompson.”

🫐 Blueberry — Dark and mysterious, representing the secrets Sarah carried while moving through the army undetected.

❤️ Raspberry — Bright and bold, for the courage it took to step beyond the life society expected of her and into the dangers of war.

🌿 Lemon Balm — Traditionally associated with healing and protection, reflecting Sarah’s work as a nurse and the care she provided to wounded soldiers.

🌱 Sage — A symbol of wisdom and resilience, honoring the resourcefulness Sarah used to survive, serve, and ultimately tell her story.

Together, In Plain Sight is bright, herbal, slightly tart, and quietly complex—a tea for a woman who proved that sometimes the most extraordinary stories are hiding where no one thinks to look.

We’re halfway through Bisexual Awareness Month, and tomorrow kicks off Bisexual Awareness Week!

As a partially q***r-owned business, we love celebrating the beautiful diversity of sexuality—and that includes our bi+ community!

Bisexuality is valid. Bisexuality is real. And bisexual people belong in q***r spaces, in LGBTQ+ celebrations, and everywhere else they choose to be.

So whether you’re bi, pan, q***r, questioning, or simply an ally, consider this your reminder to celebrate love, identity, and the wonderfully complicated ways we can be attracted to one another. There’s always a seat at our tea table for you.

💛🫖 September: Su***de Prevention Month 🫖💛

We may be a little late in honoring this month—we’ve been busy with markets for the first couple of weeks—but this is a message worth making space for.

September is Su***de Prevention Month, a time to remember that connection can save lives.

Sometimes checking in is as simple as:

“Hey, how are you really doing?”

“I’m glad you’re here.”

“You don’t have to go through this alone.”

And sometimes, being there means simply sitting together over a cup of tea. 🫖

If you’re struggling, please reach out to someone you trust. If someone you love is struggling, remind them that they matter and that they don’t have to carry everything by themselves.

Let’s make room for honest conversations, compassion, and the reminder that there is always someone worth staying for—including you.

We also want to add a small shout out for our Tea Master, Karol, who not only is a great supportive friend but also celebrating his birthday today!
