I have a hard time not collecting flowers everywhere I go. It's challenging to take a walk and not stoop to gather a taste of the beauty I find along the way. From parks to roadside ditches, and everywhere in between, I just want to gather a bit of the magic of each blooming season and take it home with me.
The challenge, of course, is how to preserve the wonder of something so very fleeting. I am slowly adding to the flower presses this year, working out ways to admire each season's offering.
These beautiful pressed spring flowers can't help but make me smile. Blue is the rarest of flower colors, and it shows up in spring more than any other time of year. The blue and purples make my heart swoon just a bit, and I am delighted to try to preserve the joy they bring a little bit longer.
