bōtan Little shop of flora located in Buffalo, New York. We at bōtan are seasoned florists dedicated to high quality work at an affordable cost. Our formula is simple.

We minimize expense by juxtaposing imported rarities with foraged and locally grown flora. We maximize the beauty of each arrangement through our careful compositions, inspired by combinations of Western and ikebana techniques. Our look can be characterized as "old world," but we remain contemporary through our many influences and continuous experimentation.

Thanks to all the sculptors who came out last weekend for SCULPTURE CLASS ⚒️ It was a blast trying out a new form of class focused on not only vase but sans vase arranging— and all foam-free! 🌎🌱

And thank you for bearing with me as I tried to teach more complex mechanics. I'll never forget the collective gasp when I dropped the burrito. IYKYK. Hopefully, I redeemed myself in the end 😅

Join us for SCULPTURE CLASS on Saturday, May 30th at 3 o'clock in afternoon to learn professional, foam-free mechanics for floral sculptures.

Happy Earth Day 🌱

This past Saturday was one of most rewarding classes ever! It was one of the more challenging ones and yet I was blown away by everyone's designs 👏👏

It feels good having a smaller class sometimes. I might try and stick to more classes but fewer seats going forward.

Our next class will be in late May and will be on sculptural designs. We will go over flower sculptures from smaller arrangements that seem to emanate from the table to hanging installations. I will post about it within the next week or so, so be sure to sign up for our mailing list beforehand 💌
