Are you looking to improve in a track and field event? Or would you like to improve your speed or fitness? Private coaching may be for you.

Sessions are 1-hour in length and usually meet in our Williamsville facility or other agreed upon tracks/locations across WNY. We have private coaches working with children ages 3+, teens, elite high school/college athletes, adults of all abilities, and kids with special needs.

Our coaches have experience as youth, high school and college coaches, and many have strength and conditioning/USATF certifications.

We have coaches for speed, agility, sprints, jumps, hurdles, long distance, and throws and will pair you with a coach to suit your needs. Whether you want to compete at a high level, improve your general fitness, improve speed for another sport, or have some fun learning track events, we have a coach for you.

We’re thrilled to announce that Coach Matt Dow has been elevated to Director of Operations at Snyder Track & Field.

Matt has been with us for the past year and jumped in from the very start, coaching classes, Speed School, club teams, “Train for a 5k,” open hours, in-school programs and more. We knew he was dedicated when, after just a couple months with us, he showed up to “Track or Treat” in a full Chewbacca costume ready to roll.

Matt really took one for the team at Junior Olympics Nationals, navigating a completely disorganized meet and still making sure our kids were taken care of every step of the way. He’s the type of coach who steps in wherever he’s needed, easing the stress and making things run smoothly. We joke that we can’t go anywhere with Matt without hearing, “Hey, you’re Mr. Dow!” It’s definitely a reminder of the countless athletes and students he’s impacted through his years of teaching and coaching.

In his new role, Matt will take on a wide range of responsibilities. He’ll continue to coach across nearly every area of our programming, and he and Dominic will manage and mentor other coaches, making sure our athletes get the best possible experience.

Beyond coaching, Matt will take the lead on program development and expansion. Long-term, he’ll help us launch more opportunities including a new membership model for kids, teens, and adults. Matt will also keep our facility running smoothly, managing open hours, coordinating rentals, and will also organize team travel.

Matt brings with him a wealth of experience as a retired science teacher, longtime track & XC coach at St. Joe’s, and even as a record-setting runner himself (his University of Detroit 1000m record still stands today). He’s also a certified strength and conditioning coach and a self-proclaimed “track junkie,” whose favorite event is the 4x400. His passion for the sport is contagious, and we’re thrilled to have him helping lead Snyder Track & Field into its next chapter.

We’re excited to announce that Dominic Clementi has been named our new Director of Program Delivery.

Dom has been a big part of our community for years. A former standout mid-distance runner at Daemen University, he later earned his Master’s in Health & Human Performance at Canisius University. He’s been an assistant XC/TF coach at Niagara since 2024. And he’s been coaching with Snyder TF for 4 years, working with club teams, summer camps, classes, and Speed School. He’s also great at leading the team cheer.

In this new role, Dom will take the lead on coaching programs, mentoring new coaches, managing equipment, and helping to deliver smooth, high-quality events and programs. He’ll also be a key leader in the ex*****on of new programs as we add offerings and new locations.

This is a big milestone for Snyder Track and Field, as our growth has brought us to the point where we need dedicated leadership roles. Dominic is the first of two new hires we’ll be announcing, and we couldn’t be more grateful to our community for helping us reach this point.

We want to thank Dom for believing in this endeavor from the very beginning. He’s been a cornerstone of our journey, coaching our first club team, helping launch our first summer camp at ECC, and even pitching in to paint and lay flooring in our new building in 2024. Dom has done whatever it takes to help Snyder TF succeed, and we’re thrilled to see him step into this elevated role.

When asked what he loves about track & field, Dom said:
“I really like the team aspect… track is usually viewed as individual, but over the years I’ve found that team culture is what drives performance. I also enjoy how your biggest competition is yourself. Everyday, you’re striving to become a better version of yourself.”

We’re excited for Dom to step into this leadership role and can’t wait to see the impact he makes on our athletes and programs.

Nationals Results!

I’m sorry I don’t have pictures and videos of everyone. While many of us were enjoying local meets in Buffalo, 7 athletes competed over 5 days in Savannah, GA. The National Junior Olympics Championship brings together the best in the country. And we’re so proud of the athletes representing Snyder TC on the biggest stage.

This meet was long and tough on athletes and coaches. Coach Matt deserves a lot of credit for coordinating athletes and dealing with a disorganized, constantly changing event lineup. And parents deserve credit for going with the flow and supporting athletes despite dysfunction at the highest level of this sport.

Our athletes rallied in tough conditions and represented Buffalo so well.

Roxy Viscuso (9-10): 56th in the 400m (1:15.82). 65th in the 100m (15.29 seconds)

Evelyn Mullin (13-14): 45th in the 1500m, with a big personal best time of 5:24.00

Kate Gaughan (13-14): personal best throw of 25’1.75” in shot put and placed 50th.

Max Lines (11-12): 800m, big personal best run of 2:31.01 to place 37th

Elise Brady (11-12): 1500m, a huge personal best, placed 49th with a time of 5:40.79

Brielle Lijewski (8U): first year in track!! 52nd in the 400m with a time of 1:30.62

Ian Ham (9-10): 57th in the 800m with a personal best time of 2:56.75; big personal best in the 1500m with a time of 5:37.40 placing 37th
