Sunday evening ceremonies will be conducted rain or shine.
If severe weather impacts Monday ceremonies, the public will be notified no later than 7:00 AM Memorial Day via:

If the weather plan is activated, Monday cemetery ceremonies will be canceled and all activities will move to a single collective ceremony at 10:00 AM at the Cochrane–Fountain City School Auditorium.

It's been a year since the last cleanup. Last year was very successful, and many feel a major cleanup is not needed. BUT IF YOU WANT TO CLEAN ON YOUR OWN, we will have bags at the three landings: Spring Lake, 10th St, and Belvidere Landing, the morning of Saturday, April 25. We encourage the community to come together and clean up our section (Pool 5) of the river. Trash bags will be at all three major boat landings; items and trash bags can be placed out of the way at all landings and will be removed by Waste Transport. If you collect barrels, we will have volunteers helping us get them to the recycling center. Thank you in advance for taking the time to keep our community beautiful.

A huge thank you to everyone that participated or stopped in last weekend for the ice fishing contest. Special thanks to our sponsors
Schneider Heating and Air Conditioning, INC, and JSOutfitter also B & S express for providing the ice cream for the youngsters, Brad's Roadhouse for the great food, Waste Transport for clean up and dumpsters, Affordable Septic for the porta potties and River Valley Storage for the kids prize money. The FFA did a fantastic job helping out and providing beverages and sweet treats. And last but not least all the volunteers that make this day possible. To all the local businesses that donated prizes for the door prize drawing, you are rock stars and your donations are greatly appreciated. Included are some pictures of the winners in no particular order. See ya next year:)
