Happy Anniversary, Heritage Town Center!

This weekend ten years ago, an open house was held at the new Heritage Town Center to show it off to the people of Buffalo Center. After five years of hard work and challenging setbacks, the HTC and Museum were finally open for business.

The HTC houses a banquet hall, a small meeting room, offices for the city, the first museum in Buffalo Center's history, a kitchen, bathrooms, and storage.

The HTC has been well-used in its ten years and has been important in its ability to bring the town together. The HTC has hosted everything from weddings to funerals to banquets to dances. Small events have been popular also, such as wedding and baby showers, retirement parties, coffees, reunions, and meetings.

We look forward to the memories being made at HTC for many, many years to come!

The Heritage Town Center recently received a check for $1500 representing a Community Support Award made on behalf of the Golden Plains Wind Project. Rod Hansen, standing in on behalf of HTC, thanks James Scott, Project Development Manager from EDF Renewables, for the contribution to the improvements at HTC.
HTC has also received donations from Farmers Trust & Savings Bank, the Winnebago County Community Foundation, the John K & Luise V. Hanson Foundation, and several private donors.
The building is in the middle of updating some areas. Signage and lighting have been added on the north side of the building, and the inside has been repainted.
Future plans include a new light pole in the north parking lot, a sidewalk around to the kitchen door, and additional landscaping rock and bushes.
Donations made be made to the City Clerk, PO Box 263, BC 50424. Please mark as designated for the Heritage Town Center.
