Grandma's Scottish Shortbread Cookies

For those of you who have been around the Santa Ynez Valley for 30 or more years you may have had these amazing cookies before. My Grandma on my father's side was a cornerstone of the valleys philanthropic community. If you attend the Presbyterian Church in Ballard or any fundraiser in the valley from the 60's until her passing in the 90's you probably ate something she cooked. Her STS Ranch (now black jack winery) kitchen featured a full commercial walkin refrigerator a 12 burner commercial wolf stove and was much larger and better equipped than many of the restaurant kitchen I've in ove the years. She along with my Mom's mother are major reasons why I first learned to cook.

Now my amazing wife is making grandma's Shortbread Cookies for a local coffee shop.

Had a great time last weekend. Took me back to to the early 00's when I was Wok Jockey at Zan Yai Thai Cuisine on lower state street in Santa Barbara.

Roulade of Mary's Chicken Cacciatore Style, cooked in Pinot Noir with Olives, and Herbed Beluga Lentils, and a Braising Reduction.

For dessert Pears poached in Pinot Noir and Spices, served atop a Backyard Blackberry Coulis, topped with a scoop of Vanilla Bean Ice cream and drizzle of reduced Poaching Liquid

We are gearing up for our busiest catering season yet! We are looking for a full-time chef to help with prep and help execute service on event days. We are constantly growing each year. In addition to competitive pay based on experience we offer an IRA plan, health plan, paid time off. We like to keep a fun and friendly kitchen environment. We will cure and cook for you just pick it up and heat to serve
$15/lb (precook weight)
Pick up from our kitchen in Buellton the week before St. Patty's If you don't get your order in during pre-orders we might have extra depending on how many order we get and how large of a case my meat company sends me.

and I haven't even been home from our trip to Thailand for a whole week yet and we are having withdrawals from the change in diet... so this next Saturday the 31st we will be offering a Thai dinner curbside pick up from our kitchen in Buellton.

Order cut off will be this Thursday the 29th or sooner if we fill all pickup slots first. Email orders only please.

No substitution or menu changes, in your email please include your preferred pick up time, pick ups will be ever 15 minutes 430-630

The meal will easly feed two very hungry adults with leftovers upto 4 people.
