Floral Shop Salesperson
Location: Buckhannon & Philippi
Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Reports To: Store Manager or Owner
Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, customer-focused Salesperson to join our floral shop team. This individual will assist customers with selecting floral arrangements, take orders in-store and over the phone, and help maintain a welcoming and visually appealing shop environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for flowers and design, and a strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist walk-in customers in a professional and friendly manner
• Help customers choose floral arrangements for various occasions (weddings, sympathy, birthdays, etc.)
• Accurately take and process phone, online, and in-store orders
• Maintain knowledge of flowers, plants, seasonal trends, and care instructions
• Upsell additional products such as balloons, chocolates, cards, and gifts
• Keep sales and display areas clean, organized, and well-stocked
• Handle cash, check and card transactions using POS system
• Assist designers with light duties such as wrapping bouquets or preparing delivery tags
• Provide excellent customer service to build long-term relationships
Qualifications:
• Previous retail or sales experience preferred (floral experience is a plus!)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes emotional environment
• Enthusiastic, dependable, and team-oriented
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak floral holidays (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Light lifting (up to 25 lbs.) of floral arrangements and merchandise, as well as occasional climbing for floral & decor installations.
