The Advocate Awards is one of my favorite events to cover. We’ve been a sponsor of POWER- The Power of Professional Women and have photographed their events since the very first one, and their mission is something I truly believe in. The more women and diversity in the workplace, the better it is for everyone.
This year was one of the best yet. The room looked amazing as it always does at Philadelphia Country Club, but what really stood out was the energy and enthusiasm. It was palpable, and I always leave feeling energized for days afterward.
It was great to see so many familiar faces and to watch true champions of women be recognized. It was especially meaningful because we had just wrapped three days of photography for NewAmsterdam Pharma where I photographed their EVP Chris Deluzio. He was fantastic to work with, and it was a nice surprise to see so many of the NewAmsterdam team we’d just met there to support him, along with his family.
Congratulations to this year’s honorees: Charisse Lillie, Daniel J. Hilferty, Jennifer Kavanagh, Chris Deluzio, and Tracy Davidson. And a big thank you to keynote speaker Suzy Welch for such valuable insights. Not only is she a respected thought leader, best-selling author, and professor at NYU Stern School of Business, but she’s developed a proven method to help people build a life and career that’s authentic and fulfilling. I’m so thankful I landed in a career that ticks all those boxes for me, and I wish everyone could find a way to turn their passion and superpowers into work that supports them financially while feeding their soul. If this resonates with you, her book “Becoming You” is definitely worth picking up.
