It is a beautiful piece of history still standing here in Saline County. In 1948 plans were drawn for the "Big Barn" and was built by hand by Ralph Hill in 1949. Sand and gravel for all of the hand mixed concrete was brought from Little Rock via highway 5 because the freeway was not built until 1955. Hill Farm was the original model dairy farm from 1957-1964. ss, the land and "Big Barn" were used to raise their cattle and horses until the property was sold in 2011 to Bryant School District. The main farmhouse was tore down to make way for Hill Farm Elementary. The barn sat empty for a few years while Saline County pondered its fate. There were concerns that the Hill Barn would be removed from the property also. Thankfully, after much interest and love from the community, it is taking on new life all while keeping the “history” intact. It boasts a variety of wood dating back to the 1800’s including telegraph poles and railroad ties just to name a few. It has had some cosmetic updates over the past several months in preparation to be a very unique wedding /event center. A much needed addition to Saline County. It sits on 7 beautiful acres adorned with pecan trees and a small creek. Hill Barn has 3800 square foot of indoor climate controlled space and 3200 square foot of covered loft area.
