We are heartbroken by the loss of Brunswick’s sweet Elise Paine, who left us too soon, just before she turned 14, but not without leaving her mark. She graced Brunswick stages for the first time as an elementary student, bringing fire to the sassy role of Young Kangaroo in our high school production of Seussical. Elise had no problem hanging with the high school kids. They were instantly smitten with her. She knew all of her lines on Day 1: a true pro! Only a few years later, she starred as Ariel in Brunswick Middle School’s production of The Little Mermaid. Our whole music & theatre department, staff & students alike, mourns her passing and send love to the Paine family. Her performances on the Brunswick stages, and on every stage she graced, will stay with us forever 💙.

Go Eli! We are so proud of you!

Congratulations to Brunswick High School student-athlete Eli Nichols for being named the Gazette MVP for boys track and field! Eli is the first Medina County male athlete since 2010 to medal in both a field and track event at the state meet. He is also a standout in the classroom (3.7 GPA) and on the football field. Known as much for his larger-than-life personality as his athletic accomplishments, Eli will continue his academic career at Edinboro University, where he will be a part of the Edinboro Fighting Scots Football and Edinboro Track and Cross Country teams. Way to go, Eli! We are so proud of you! For more information, check out today’s Medina Gazette.

Our alumni take CENTER STAGE… literally! Don’t miss BHS graduate and class of 2023 Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame member, Shawn Kilgore, perform tonight at Lorain Community College Hoke Theater at 7:30 PM. Along with his partner, Natalie Cordone, they created “Vegas, Baby!” to celebrate the songs that are woven into the fabric of American culture. The passion that began on the stage of Brunswick High School has taken Shawn across the country, where he has entertained audiences with his incredible talent. Shawn, we are so proud of you! Good luck tonight! For more details, check out today’s Medina Gazette.
