Welcome, Buddhist Monks to Brunswick County, Virginia! Thank you for sharing your Walk for Peace with us. We're forever grateful. 🙏🏾

Walk for Peace- Daily Update

Brunswick County is still anxiously awaiting welcoming the ‘Walk for Peace’ and the Monks into Virginia this afternoon. The plan is still to welcome them into Virginia in the Gasburg Area on Elam Road between 3-430pm and continue to Pleasant Hill Christian Church (175 Ankum Road, Gasburg) via Oak Grove Road. The monks will be having visiting hours there from 6pm-730pm tonight.

Their journey will continue on Thursday as they depart from Pleasant Hill Christian Church around sunrise and will continue on Ankum Road to Highway 46 North (Christanna Hwy). The monks will walk along 46 North for the entire morning on Thursday stopping at the Brunswick Byways Visitor (13516 Christianna Hwy, Lawrenceville) Center for lunch and continuing Northward through the Town of Lawrenceville.

Citizens and visitors are welcomed in the Town of Lawrenceville along their route as this section of their journey will be the safest area for citizens to safely view and experience their travel.

The route will continue out of the Town and continue on Poor House Road towards Alberta to their overnight rest location of Bethel United Methodist Church (45 Church Street, Alberta). It is unknown at this time if the Monks will be hosting visiting hours at this location.

Again, traffic delays along this route will be significant. Citizens are urged to take alternate routes for daily travel if possible.

Updates, route changes and further information will be constantly provided as it is confirmed, but this is a fluid, ever changing situation. Other information can be found on the Walk for Peace website and page.

We appreciate all of the support and understanding as we ensure that we provide a safe and supported passage throughout our County.

One year ago today, I served the honor and privilege to coordinate the wedding day and reception of Sandra Sam Adams and her newlywed husband, Wadell.

While most brides lose their composure and sanity until after the wedding, this bride was pleased with me professionally easing her back into perspective. Not one time did I allow ANY situation to get out of hand nor did I avoid solutions.

Because I was able to address concerns and questions with professionalism and respect, I've gained lifetime friends. While it's never my intention of gaining new friends, my character, career, and empathy attract people. Because of that I'm grateful to have happy, satisfied customers. And I'm blessed to have witnessed the love story of Mr. & Mrs. Adams. It was also beautiful receiving the love and welcome of your pastor and church family. I'm forever grateful for all of you!

HAPPY 1st ANNIVERSARY, Mr. & Mrs. Adams!!! It's always a breath of fresh air visiting Martinsville and it's all because of you two! May your marriage continue to receive God's blessings and guidance.
