Wedding planning is exciting—but unfortunately, scams are more common than most couples realize. Before booking any vendor, watch for these red flags 🚩
1. No proper contract
If there’s no detailed contract outlining services, pricing, payment schedules, cancellation policies, and deliverables—run. Legit vendors always protect both sides in writing.
2. Non-disparagement clauses
Be cautious if a contract limits your ability to leave honest reviews or speak about your experience. And if it’s used to pressure you during cancellation or termination—major red flag.
3. No proof of real weddings
Ask for full wedding galleries, not just Instagram highlights. Check tagged photos, reviews, and testimonials—and watch for stolen or stock images.
4. Not paying vendors directly
Always pay the actual vendor through their official invoice or business account. Be wary if someone else is collecting deposits or “handling payments on your behalf.”
5. Too good to be true pricing
A full-service $6K wedding package or a $500 experienced 12-hour photographer? If it sounds unrealistic, it probably is.
A few extra minutes of research can save you thousands—and a lot of stress on your wedding day. ✨
Save this for later + share with a newly engaged friend 💍🤍
