A recent "Fer Fun Find" has left me truly intrigued - an antique baby bonnet carefully nestled inside a John Shilito Company box. The John Shillito Company, was founded in 1830 by John Shillito and William McLaughlin as a dry-goods store in Cincinnati, Ohio. After McLaughlin's departure, the company was renamed John Shillito & Company in 1837.

The most captivating aspect of this find, however, is the tiny baby bracelet bearing the name "Fabbe" nestled in the tissue paper lining the box. Further investigation has revealed that "Fabbe" is the Swedish word for "bean." Someone’s little baby bean… This discovery has filled my heart with a sincere hope that the story behind this family heirloom has a happy ending. Nevertheless, it is evident that this treasured artifact has been cherished through generations, serving as a poignant reminder of the power of a mother’s love. ♥️
