Had the pleasure of visiting Tomball FFA’s Advanced Floral Design classes today and leading a mini freelance workshop for these budding young designers. I was very impressed with these super fast learners who did a great job on their first foam-free arch and nailed the mechanics behind this piece. We talked about careers in freelancing, pricing and best practices. The students had so many questions and it was my pleasure to be able to provide some insight in what it’s like to work to be an event florist. It makes me really happy to be able to connect with the future of our industry! Thanks for having me

When I was 15, I read my first issue of in my high school floral design class. I was always excited to read about the latest industry trends.

The latest issue is titled “Top 50 Wedding Florists” and features a list of floral companies within the U.S and Canada market as “Top Florists”. Imagine how I felt when I learned that we made that list!

To be recognized at the industry level by our peers for all the hard work my team and I have put in is so incredible. The article mentions that we’ve been a part of the “advancement of the floral arts”- an honor I have no words for.

This an incredibly proud moment for my family and we could not be more appreciative for the feature. Those who know our origins know that we started from the bottom- I bootstrapped this company after I left my corporate job at 25. It was a temporary pause to my career, but completely intentional.

My mother never had the chance to finish school in Mexico but she was born with a natural talent for floral design, an innovative way of thinking and an incredible work ethic. Thanks to her sacrifices, I’ve had a life filled with so much opportunity. Because of my deep admiration and gratitude for her I was determined from a young age to give her the career she always longed for.

Pictured here is a photo from 2015, when my mom was still selling followers as a road side vendor. She did this every Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day since I was a young girl. I wish I had filmed her reaction when I read this article to her. She was so overcome by emotion. This feature finally made her realize her talent and vision is not something only I see. My mom is a top florist, y’all! I always saw it, but now I know our peers do too.

This company has opened so many doors for my family and taken me to places I never imagined I would go. I am incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by amazing people and a strong creative community which I could not have done this without. In a few months, I’ll be taking yet another big step in my career, one that Casa De Flores opened the doors for. I cannot wait to tell you more about it.

When I posted Sarah’s bouquet y’all freaked out. It was so highly requested and I even had two already booked brides CHANGE their bouquets to be inspired by hers. Obvi, I can’t give y’all the same bouquet I made for Sarah because that one was made just for her, as are all my bride’s bouquets. 😂 However I’m definitely looking forward to the challenge of making new custom versions for my brides!

My original plan to give this bride some awesome rainbow roses in her bouquet for her 🇲🇽 themed wedding day. That fell through unexpectedly so I substituted them with an even better upgrade: fresh Gloriosa lilies! Y’all really love the cascade bouquets and I’m happy to oblige 💕
