The NYT just posted this and I had to share.

It’s one of the better explanations I’ve seen for how weather apps work and the process from start to finish.

But it’s also clear to note, When the data sources are underfunded, private apps fill the gap for the general public, but since these apps are made for everyone their goal is usually to give you raw data, not actionable insights tailored to your specific situation.

Ironic exists to close that gap. We take the science, interpret it for your specific needs, and deliver forecasts you can actually use to make decisions with confidence.

It’s a interesting post and a reminder that strong public funding for weather science matters more than most people realize.

We depend on weather predictions not just to properly dress for work or plan trips. Businesses nationwide use forecasts to prepare for storms, fly planes, build houses and deliver mail.

The more weather observations meteorologists can rely on, the more precise their forecasts will be. But government cuts have forced nearly 600 layoffs and early retirements at the National Weather Service this year. That means less data is being collected, and some experts think that the lack of such data collection could already be undermining the accuracy of long-range weather prediction models.

“Get in, where you fit in” is a line Lil Yachty said to me once backstage at a show. Im pretty sure it’s a title of a Too Short track…. 
And it’s the only thing I can think about when looking at these photos from the gala.

We all feel imposter syndrome (or at least I assume we all do) and after years of feeling uncertain about what I’ve been doing with my life, my career, and Ironic… it is nice to look at these photos and say……”Sh*t”….. I am exactly where I am supposed to be, and to make it even more special, I’m with the people I want to be with… and I couldn’t ask for anything more than that on my 36th birthday.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes… I really can’t express what this event community and all of you mean to me!
