The National Park Service advises you not to stop if grizzly bears ask you for directions on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17TH when at 2 p.m. (New York time) ARTFUL DODGERS POETRY will be holding our next HYBRID open mic event at the Brooklyn Heights Public Library in Brooklyn Heights, New York, just across the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan and easily accessible by public transportation. And not to worry, the bears pictured above are probably just kids trying out their Halloween costumes and following a trail of candy corn to a matronly Goldilocks who’d invited them for a late brunch.

IF JOINING US IN PERSON, as we encourage you to do, you need only stop by and grab a seat before baring your souls. The Brooklyn Heights Library, our venue for the day, is only a short walk from the 2, 3, 4, 5, and RR subway train stops at Boro Hall, the 2 or 3 at Clark Street, or the F, A, and C stops at Jay Street. If coming via the Long Island Railroad, you can make a connection to the 2, 3, 4, 5, and RR trains at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center. If you’re in Manhattan and feeling up to it, hike the Brooklyn Bridge to get to us, we’re just over the bridge on the Brooklyn side. And while it’s a little-known fact that bears are afraid of heights and won’t cross the bridge to Brooklyn Heights, you're welcome to bring your own bear claw pastries. The mother and her cubs pictured above will be missing some Goldilocks-approved poetry, silly bears.
