turns 5 🥂 ✨ 5️⃣

For the 5 year anniversary of our annual Juneteenth celebration, we are elated to welcome none other than the founding father of house music, Chicago’s own !

The event will happen on Friday, June 19 from 2-9pm in the outdoor space at and will kick off our summer season of outdoor events.

We’ll be hosting another house dance workshop, our annual black record fair, delicious food by our beloved , portraits, local vendors, and more, plus our queen of dancefloors is on host duty!

There’s a very limited amount of early bird tickets at the link in bio. Highly recommend not missing this one! 💛 ✨ 🌞

does it again. Thank you for the master class selections, for going back to back with me to open and close the night, for shining your light on NY. One of one. Thank you for the freshest and most delicious hand rolls that kept us fed and energized quite literally past 7am. I’m so grateful for your talent and care for our community. Thank you to all the staff at .room.nyc who are always such a pleasure to work alongside and make the parties run smoothly. Thank you to every last homie who showed up, danced, shouted, cried and contributed energy to our collective cause of getting free! I love every last one of you and am honored to steward this project.

Now on to some unfortunate news. We somehow did not get a single donation for Stop Deed Theft. Mutual aid for community is a central part of this initiative and this particular cause is in dire need of our attention. Native New Yorkers are being priced out and displaced at exorbitant rates. Homeowners in historically black and brown neighborhoods are being manipulated, deceived, and harassed for the purpose of having their homes stolen and being ousted from their communities. This is how colonization works. Projects like Stop Deed Theft are run by hard working every day people who are fighting for the right to exist peacefully in the homes and neighborhoods they grew up in. These are the people that birth the culture that bring swarms of transplants to New York every year and they need our help and protection. Now for some more good news. LOVE FROM THE SUN IS TURNING 5! This Juneteenth, Friday, June 19 marks the 5 year anniversary of Love From The Sun. We have an extra special celebration in store that will be announced later today.

We’re going from 10pm until 7am at .room.nyc with serving late night eats throughout. Most importantly we’re raising funds for and any and all contributions are greatly appreciated. Music is a deeply spiritual thing for me, in all ways. It’s my favorite hobbie, my passion, my job, my refuge, my connection to the ancestors, the lens through which I see the world, the lens through which I see myself. I feel honored every time I’m invited to soundtrack a night out, but some just feed your soul differently than others. .ic.land is an immensely special place created by equally special people, where one DJ is entrusted to steer the spaceship for an all night journey. Tonight is that night for me. I’m very much looking forward to giving you all a peek inside my world of music, across the genres and soundscapes that inform my musical palette. For the next iteration of we’ve invited two of our favorite artists from Detroit for a special Saturday late night to early morning beatdown ahead of Movement the following weekend. These two are some of the finest contemporaries of the rich musical lineage of Detroit, with astute technical and creative prowess across DJing, production, musicianship and beyond.
