Dearest friends,
It's been hard to find the right words. Everything's postponed indefinitely, IRL is canceled and most long-term plans are on hold. No one can predict the impact this will have beyond the next few difficult weeks and the challenges will be unlike anything our community has ever faced.
The silence is deafening. We've spent years of our lives organizing and attending shows around NYC — to many of us these gatherings have given us our sense of purpose, our livelihoods and endless inspiration. They've led to lifelong friendships, true love, and a place to discover our talents and build the courage to share a part of ourselves that maybe we were once too afraid to show.
In an absurdly short period of time, this crisis has shown us all that we've taken so much for granted. These connections are what keeps us going, and without a physical space or the opportunity to gather we have to keep that energy alive in every way possible.
As many of you know, we recorded nearly every set at Shea between 2009 and 2017. During this time where no shows are taking place offline, we'll be shining a light onto our show archives. We'll post some of our faves (and nominating others to share) to make the task of scrolling through a bit less daunting. Each of these shows was a gift and they've never felt more alive to us than they do now. Let us keep you company during quarantine with hundreds of hours of shows:

Let’s also continue to support the community that made these shows possible. Our hearts go out to our fellow spaces who are facing unprecedented struggles with no road map. Please consider donating to ensure that these spaces are able to reopen once the dust settles.

If you are unable to give $ then do your best to offer them your full emotional support — let them know how much these places (and their staff) mean to you in their absence. Their hard work has given you the opportunity make friends, lovers, discover your favorite new artists 'first', meet your future bandmates and so much more.
Please also continue following all of the rules for everyone's health and safety! Stay in, wash the hands, and if you have to head out, maintain a respectable Social D.
Hit us up if you have memories to share or just wanna talk. We're still here for you and will be always, shows or no shows.
Much love from our family to yours. Together we'll make it through this. And remember — the best things in life are free (or $10 at the door)
