Years ago I told .winter that when she had finished enough of the hexapuffs for her beekeepers quilt we should do a bo***ir shoot in a bathtub with them.

That day arrived and Celia added the hilarious prompt of LinkedIn Appropriate Bo***ir. It was an incredible joy to capture her looking stunning amidst TWO THOUSAND hexapuffs! This kind of shoot is my absolute favorite. It showcases Celia's personality, persistence, joy, and has a healthy dose of colorful chaos!

I love capturing weddings as they happen.

The joy of the couple and the most important people in their lives, the action of different parts of the day, all of it is invigorating to me and it take being chosen as someone's wedding photographer extremely seriously. The day should be fun for all involved, and that means planning and preparing the gear for whatever might happen.

Chosen family shoots are so inspiring!

Amanda contacted me to do a chosen family shoot of her and the Joons, the folks she shared a home with years ago and have stayed extremely close with. New additions, partners, and children have expanded the Joons into a beautiful and loving family.

This was the first time all of them had been together in one place in two years, and likely the last time for a while. Amanda is moving out of the house they shared and her life is taking her across the country.

I love groups like this where they play off of each other so well. The Joons were rambunctious and animated and created so much fun amongst themselves! It was an honor to be given the opportunity to capture them all at their very finest.

Surprise proposals are SO fun to shoot, and Derek and Ashley’s was the best one yet!

The two of them live in Cleveland and were planning a trip to Chicago—Ashley knew a proposal was coming, but Derek had told her it wouldn’t be this trip. Derek never lies, so he did his darndest to keep it a secret…and Ashley didn’t suspect a thing! I coordinated with Bree (Derek’s sister) and Krista (Ashley’s best friend) to make sure we had the plan in place. Derek planned to propose at one of the most iconic spots in Chicago: the Bean. I set out a bouquet in the perfect spot so he’d know exactly where to pop the question. We were able to keep the whole thing a surprise until the moment Derek got down on one knee – Ashley never saw it coming!

With monthly portrait sessions that document your transformation, we’ll honor your identity through every step in your journey. Introducing The Typewriter Tarts!

“We typewrite with style. Spontaneous patrons give us a word, theme, or intention. We respond by crafting original poem-mementos and performing them by request. Our offering is an opportunity for an immediate, one-of-a-kind art experience.”

Collaborating with Kro, Coelti, and Lisa was an absolute joy! The shoot started with a joke about American Beauty but with typewriters and ended up with 25 typewriters on a whole bunch of blankets. They’re playful and fun and it was an absolute delight working with them to really capture them and their art.

It's definitely False Spring in Chicago and the little bit of warmth is reminding me of gorgeous warm-weather weddings. Helen and Jon's late-summer wedding was SO fun to shoot – my job is to capture love, and they've got so much!

Your team, your squad, your friends, chosen family, your people. They are the ones you want to celebrate with on your wedding day. Abby and her bridesmaids were one of the most fun groups to be with and they were naturals in front of the camera!

As a photographer, being allowed into those intimate moments is about feeling out the space. Do I need to hang back and get photos from the sidelines? Is it more boisterous? What’s the vibe? Capturing those beautiful moments as they happen is an absolute blast. I get to practice my art and drink in the history and the strength of the bonds amongst the people there. It’s an honor to be let into those spaces.
