This past weekend, I was back in the HOT 93.7 studio as one of the guest DJs for the Dear Summer Mix Weekend, live for 3 hours, DJing, taking requests, doing shoutouts, and sharing the airwaves with Erica Lynn E-Boogie

And you already know when Erica and I get together, it’s always WOMAN POWER!

We’ve supported each other for years, from my Ultimate DJ Showcase over 15 years ago to my very first FDJA meetup. We talk about each other when we’re not in the room, recommend each other, and genuinely want to see each other win.

That kind of support matters, as well as being open to opportunities beyond the traditional DJ booking.

And yes, I still get nervous walking into that studio. But once we get going, I find my groove.
Talking on air used to make me nervous too (I have to remember which buttons to press when I go on and off air 😬) Now? Give me the mic! 😂😂

DJ’ing on the radio is something I never imagined myself doing. I had to push through the fear and say yes the first time.

Now I get to step into that studio, share great music with thousands of listeners, and represent women DJs in a space where there currently aren’t any at that station.

Representation matters. So does showing up.

Build the relationships.
Be great at what you do.
Support other women.

And when an opportunity comes that scares you a little?

Say yes. You never know where it can take you.

Where did this fear come from? You will not run out of music and you will always have a song to play next.

Stop!

It’s so much music out here. I promise, you will not run out. Also, remember why you’re there in the first place. You are qualified to be in that space and you will figure it out.

Stop overthinking and enjoy the weekend.

The FDJA Business Suite is officially open.
I created this space for Female DJs who want help with the business side of what we do.

Inside, you’ll find resources, community, and ongoing support to help you grow as a DJ and build a stronger business.

If this is what you’ve been needing, come join us.

Tomorrow is the day.
After months which feels like years of planning, creating, organizing, recording, and building, the FDJA Business Suite officially opens.

This has been a labor of love, and I’m so excited to finally share it with the female DJ community.

If you’ve ever wished you had business resources created specifically for DJs, this is for you.

Take a minute to watch this video and hear why I created the Business Suite and what I hope it will do for female DJs everywhere.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Female DJ Association and believed in this vision. Your encouragement has meant more than you know.

Doors open tomorrow!

Over the years, I’ve had so many conversations with DJs who ask the same kinds of questions.

“How do you respond to this client?”

“What should I charge?”

“Do you have a contract I can use?”

“How much of a deposit should I ask for?”

I’ve answered hundreds of questions, shared contracts, talked through difficult client situations, celebrated wins, and helped DJs feel more prepared when it comes to running their businesses.

After having these conversations for years, I realized it was time to bring those resources together in one place.

The FDJA Business Suite was created to help DJs build businesses that are just as strong as their talen. It’s filled with resources shaped by real experiences, real questions, and the lessons I’ve learned over 17+ years in the industry as a DJ and business owner.

I didn’t build it because I had all the answers. I built it because I remember what it felt like to be looking for them.

Sometimes the biggest thing holding you back isn’t your talent.

It’s how you see yourself.

If you see yourself as “just a DJ,” you’ll make decisions from that mindset.

But when you recognize you’re running a business and the value you bring goes far beyond the music, everything changes.

You charge like it.

You show up like it.

You move like it.

That’s the mindset we’re building at FDJA.

💬 Do you see yourself as a DJ, a business owner, or both? Tell us why. 👇🏽

Can’t believe it’s been 2 weeks since we were all together. Celebrating, supporting, and truly having a GOOD time at BAMS FEST / week.

I mean we danced, created songs, videos, stepped on big stages, met our heroes, inspired, encouraged, laughed, maybe even shed some tears. That’s what family does when we get together.

You all should be so proud of yourselves!! Some of you had your firsts and FDJA is so honored to be a part of making that happen.

Shout out to the DJs who represented to the fullest for Female DJ Association on all stages. music

YOU were the highlight and the spotlight was on you. YOU will always shine!
See virtually in the community until our next meet up in person. Stay tuned!

People see the highlight reel. They don’t always see the hustle behind it.

Two DJs. Two founders. Two entrepreneurs. Two women building brands from the ground up. 🎧

Most days, we’re the CEO, the DJ, the marketer, the content creator, customer service, tech support, and the visionary.

And EVERYDAY... we’re hyping each other up. ❤️

Follow and AND Tag the friend who keeps you inspired, motivated, and moving!
